Grand Duchess Stéphanie's Fashion & Style Part 1: October 2025 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
The white coat and yellow top are a great combination and perfectly suited to the occasion. I’d say this is her best look in the past two days. But the shoes? Are they sneakers? They ruin the outfit. I have to admit, her husband’s suit looks much more dashing than Stéphanie’s choices.
I don't want to be picky, because it's clear that Stéphanie will never be a fashionista, but why are the whites two different shades? It's just the little things that, if she paid a bit more attention and made a change, would be perfect. But she seems like she'll be a hard-working and dutiful Grand Duchess of Luxembourg and that's more important that clothing that's well-tailored or matches, so I'll focus on that instead.

I didn’t notice it was two shades of white:eek:

The white outfit with jumper looked good on the livestream and I didn’t notice the difference in colour until the pictures. To be honest a lot of Stephanie’s clothes seem to look better in motion than in pictures to me, not sure why. She is never going to be a fashionista. The looks so far have been IMO presentable at best. But i’d much rather her focus on her personality given her predecessor - give me someone less fussed on fashion over someone who is but isn’t a nice person anyday!

Stephanie's final outfit reminds me of something Queen Camilla would usually wear.

This is a fashion thread, so of course we are just talking about her style. Nobody is judging her abilities or commitment or personality. If we were, it would be in the appropriate threads. Let’s keep fashion as fashion!

Its almost exactly the same as the navy and white outfit Catherine wore to christen HMS Glasgow bar the shade of blue. Which IMO shows people judge based on more general appearance than anything else (...)

I like this outfit- bar the white handbag which I think always look awful no matter who carries them.

Agreed on looking like something Camilla would wear in terms of being a shirtdress. The colours are nice for her, and her undergarments aren't embarrassing her and nothing is bunching up in inappropriate places, so this might be her best look so far of the weekend.

(..) She has a beautiful complexion and can wear pastels and jewel tones well, so hopefully someone who can work with her on her styling can guide her towards those.

I agree that the last outfit looks like one of Camila‘s zip up dresses. Even the shoes in fact all of her dresses look like they are for someone much older. I actually like the jumpsuit and I think that olive color looks fine on her and the all in one color idea is very good for her. They certainly have enough money so money is not a problem she needs help.

Stéphanie at the final event of day 2 this evening, it's not bad and the colour is great, but it's once again a bit matronly:

Yes, it makes her look older than she is. Isn’t she close in age to the Princess of Wales?

If being kind, cultured and highly intelligent was all that mattered for a Royal consort in 2025 Stephanie would be GOLDEN. But it's not all that matters for a Royal wife of a Head of State.

I hate criticizing Stephanie because I admire her a lot. But the two different shades of white is an example of the kind of sloppy carelessness which I find so maddening.

What's next? A different shoe on each foot?😣🫣

It's not so bad when she is confined to Luxembourg. The citizens seem.to like and embrace her as she is and they always have, which is great. But what happens when she represents the Grand Duchy on State visits to places like Paris or overseas?

I can't get over the fact that after all these years she still apparently hasn't hired a full time dresser.

By the way, the white cape is Carolina Herera and the jumpsuit is Natan.
So we couldn't say that she downgraded the occasion. She choose among the top designers.
Just she picked wrong items for her. To be precise IMHO the jumpsuit was wrong.

I guess Stephanies style will always be matronly but to me the biggest faux pas is to repeat the same dress in the evening. Not possible to explain such a thing, really. Even for 'normal' people, who wants to spend the evening in the same dress that you spend your (longer) day activities in? Obviously you need to freshen up at some point - you probably don't have a shower because of the hair, but still - and then you jump into the same dress again?
The dress itself is Saab but has a very disappointing bodice and waistline, not up to the usual standard of such a label.

She's younger than Catherine.
They have exactly 2 years difference (Stéphanie is younger)
It does not position them in a different generation.
Personnally i fully understand Stéphanie position towards fashion, she belongs to the old aristocracy with a certain mentality towards fashion. Ok.
But what i couldn't understand is the full lack of fitting in such a high cost items. When they sell to her a gown they should fit to her body. Full stop.
Once upon a time, the rich french haute couture clients used to have their body dimensions as well as a kind of doll copy of their body deposited to the designer, like Chaner, Dior etc. So the designer used to create already adequate dimensions outfits and the lady needed only a visit for the final fitting.
So why could not be done for Stéphanie ?

Yes its interesting that Saab and Natan both allow her to wear clothes that don't fit - you would think they would be better at guiding her towards better fits and styles for her shape. I honestly think Stephanie hates anything too tight or clingy so goes the complete opposite and everything is too big and looks ill fitting. She is never going to wear anything like Catherine IMO, the closest to me was the blue and white outfit last night similar ot. Catherine's navy and white. She is much more like Mathilde of Belgium (11 years older than her - and tbh I was surprised she was in her 50s not her 60s). I think part of it with Stephanie is she was born to much older parents so perhaps has a very conservative outlook in terms of fashion. Her siblings do seem to dress "better" than her but I think those years spent being probably the only child at home to older parents were probably quite formative.
Take today for example - she is wearing a good colour that doesn't drain her and she has chosen a hat even though MT isn't wearing one (and is wearing a dress that shows a bit of shoulder for church), the flowers on the waistline of the outfit are not great and would be better removed likewise on the hat but other than that it is pretty decent IMO.
She is never going to be a fashionista, I'll take looking presentable and really that should be okay. I'd rather that than all anyone talks about is who she is wearing like they do with Catherine tbf.

Stephanie looked very elegant at the Te Deum. I loved everything with the exception of her hat, which looked "off" somehow. But I quibble. Her hair and especially the deep red of her outfit were perfect.

Along with the off white Carolina Hererra cape dress shift worn for Friday's luncheon it was her best look of the weekend, imo.

She sure does have a hairdresser, and a makeup artist. Maybe she does have a stylist, just a really bad one. Let’s face it, none of the family dress well. And, as we all know, Natan is very poor fitting, especially in the bust area.
This red dress has a good shape for her but the flower are really ugly

The jumpsuit is Elie Saab according to Royal Fashion daily above and I believe them, though they didn’t succeed with the blue dress, imo.I think I was the only one who liked because it fit pretty well, I like the color on her, and the overall one color really elongated her look. And I think the ivory cape, she can use it a lot. Btw the gold flower on the jumpsuit comes with it. That is the “careless “ part about her. I imagine her stylist bringing lots of clothes and she hurriedly trying them on and not really looking at them

Finally, something well fitted and appropriate! This proves I am not against anyone’s body shape, you can still wow the show no matter your shape. The best part is she is wearing a HAT! I honestly cannot remember the last time MT wore a hat to National Day or church. Please keep this tradition going, Stephanie.
The only detail I would be picky about is the flower belt. Not because of the flowers themselves, but because it looks like it is meant to form an inverted V shape. If it were buckled straight, it would look much better.

I love the color and think she looks her best in Jewel tones.
I like the flower detail on the dress but I think the hat is too flat.
The white dress and this outfit are her best looks for me.
