And a very moving and powerful ballet it is too. I wouldn’t think Charlotte attended with her as it deals with some adult themes - particularly suicide. The Princess is a genuine balletomane which is good news for those of us who love this relatively niche art form.
I have seen this ballet performed by ABT. It was beautiful but agree that it may have been a bit too adult themed for a child.

I wonder why they need to release this statement now, wouldn't it distract the focus is his visit to Saudi? But then I read the news about Andrew's past as trade envoy. Is KP team anticipating that British media will try to drag William into Andrew's mess considering his (Andrew's) many past deals in the Middle East?

I mean, Palmer already tried to drag William into Epstein mess with his WildAid article few days ago, so it won't surprise me if other rotas follow suit with the similar "reporting" with this visit.

Because it was a question from the press pack at a briefing about the Saudi visit. They (W&C) didn’t release anything.

My guess is that the comments were timed to ensure the focus of the press accompanying Prince William remains on the Saudi trip, and not the Epstein scandal.

Not sure if it’s already been posted but I believe French magazines published that the couple enjoyed a few days away skiing together in the Alps in the last few weeks - seems without the children. No pictures published as they learnt their lesson from last year maybe

Yes. I'd read recently that the Wales, the Middletons and the Matthews with the children had all gone skiing for a weekend together in Courchevel.

What a lovely personal message from the Prince of Wales on her passing.

I saw some comments noting her Welsh is better than his. I don't speak Welsh so I don't know if it's true or it's just another bash-William day.

I have wondered before if he finds it challenging to hear and reproduce the sounds when speaking another language. I recall that his French accent and pronunciation isn't very good either.

Apparently, it is the first time that Catherine is speaking Welsh publicly. Of course, they are reading this message from a teleprompter which is very different from having a conversation in Welsh, but it still shows their commitment to Wales, its language and culture. Although I do wonder why they didn't make it a priority when living in Wales for several years, as they knew they would one day be the Prince and Princess of Wales.

It could be a "tongue-thing". A lot of Japanese find it hard to pronounce "l" (which ends up sound like "r") for example.

If you scroll through their Twitter comment section, one gives William 2/10 while Catherine gets 6/10 for their pronunciation.

I've always found it easier to get the hang of speaking a foreign language when you get over your hang ups about sounding silly and just throw yourself into the accent and pronunciation, for better or worse. I wonder if it's the same for William and Catherine, and he finds it harder to let go of his inhibitions than she does.

Also, does anyone know if George is learning Welsh?

According to the Facebook of The Times (UK) in March 2025, the whole Wales family is learning to speak Welsh, including Louis and Charlotte as well as George, plus their parents.

Number 4 on the list is The Princess of Wales

The Princess of Wales's message on today's International Women's Day:

Today we celebrate the kindness, resilience and quiet strength of women in our families and communities.
This day is about standing up alongside one another - recognising the loving influence of women, who nurture hope, encourage others and help make the world kinder and more compassionate. C
