What if people are just stuck in the city and can’t afford to leave. I think she should’ve included some city people having fun in parks ,otherwise it’s a beautiful video

Yeah, very discriminative against autumn, winter, and spring too. Why didn’t she release videos for those seasons as well? People can cherish bonds, love, and friendship in any season. Aren’t autumn, winter, and spring part of Mother Nature too? Badly done, Catherine.
Chill out folks, it's just a summer video.

She already did a spring video about nature/mental health. Supposed to do all 4 seasons in her Mother Nature/4 seasons series. I agree with other comments that it would be wonderful for everyone to take advantage of nature but don't have the time, means or energy to make it hapoen.

Surely that is the same for anything that is promoted whether it be for health and well being or anything else.
Can we not just enjoy the video for it is, or maybe you are saying that only things that all the people can afford should be promoted, well that will be an awful lot of people out of a job .
It doesn't matter what this woman does , she can never please everybody.
By the way most big cities also have large parks that people can enjoy the fresh air, which is free,

Part of the video was apparently shot in Richmond Park. Can't most of the people who live in London really afford to go there? Besides, I see some tower blocks towards the end of the video.

I think there should be a point to the video. It's beautiful but I am sure the majority of people already know that being in nature is good for you. I think there should have been links to charities that promote getting people access to nature. Here in the US we have something called the Fresh Air fund that helps underprivileged children go away to summer camps etc. I just think it could have had more of an impact. JMO.

Thanks for pointing that out. I recind my comment.

Maybe there will be something else in the future. William and Kate don't tend to start their own big projects on topics right away, like Homewards or the Centre for Early Childhood. Kate already supports nature-related things, like the Wellbeing Garden recently and the Scouts which she is president of. Maybe the point is to hear from her directly more often and for people to get to know what's important to her and there might be a project at a later date, after they took some time to figure out something impactful. Btw, if I would be her, it would be my way of saying "Go outside, be nice to each other and stop writing strange things on the internet" after what happened last year. But that's just me.

Apart from that, I agree that it's just a video that IMO is well-meant. Not everything has to be a contender for the Nobel Peace Prize.

To your point Bubbly I just think that if you are doing 4 videos for each of the seasons about Mother Nature maybe have each one focus giving some information for people to access different spaces besides their own neighborhood parks. I just think she has a platform to reach many people and IMO it's a lovely video but you lose that momentum of what you are trying to get across if you are waiting for all 4 seasons to drop if that is what she is planning on doing.

I expected the video to show footage of Kate and her family, as it has done in the past, for example, how they are spending their summer holidays. I was a little surprised to see that it actually looked like a promotional video. It could have been an advertisement for any other topic. As we know, they have hired someone to professionally handle such posts. Of course, it's a nice video, and I wouldn't expect them to constantly publish something according to the seasons.
But this video, as beautifully made as it is, didn't feel personal to me in terms of Kate and her family. But again, they should have their privacy and only give the public glimpses from time to time. But then you don't really need a video like this. Maybe we should just consider it as nice greeting, saying "enjoy your summer, wherever you are". And that is ok too

I think its a lovely video but don't quite get the point of it. I love that Catherine has found support and happiness and healthiness in nature, and 100% would be on board with her promoting that and supporting that even more. I just feel this is a great video but should come alongside something a bit more e.g. links to ways people can get involved with nature. The RHS for example runs a great School Garden programme with lots of hints and tips and support for schools setting up school gardens, they give out awards for getting to different levels inc free resources for the schools etc. Even putting a link to that would have been a huge help PR wise as the media would have jumped on it and promoted it (I know school are currently on their summer holidays but this was the first example I could think of)

I love the video, and with Catherine being as in to photography as we know she is I can see her having been heavily involved in the production and shooting of it. I just wish it was leading to a little more. There are loads of beautifully shot nature videos out there - I use some that show all 4 seasons together to teach about seasons in the UK to my class - Catherine is what would make this one different and give it a unique purpose and ability to promote.

That said, again I'm glad Catherine is promoting the message and creating such beautiful content.

It’s art. Also something Catherine’s been deeply involved in. Not everything has to be practical, not even everything royals do. If it lifts the spirits for a moment and lets you reflect on the beauty in the world (and I don’t think the video is going to depress anyone regardless of circumstances), then it’s served a purpose.

Personally I wouldn’t mind if she decides to do these every season, every year, but I’m sure after Autumn and Winter we may see if there’s a bigger project at work here.

I do agree that she likes the arts and has shown a talent with photography here is my question since I am one of the people who thought the video should have made more of a point or offered links to it to provide further info. In your opinion do you think maybe it was done this way to appeal more to a younger/instagram/influencer group since these are the age group that she will most likely be queen of. I hadn't thought of it as maybe her just showing her creative side without there being a so called "message". Not singling you out specifically but your thoughts made me think maybe I am looking at this the wrong way.

These are interesting points, I am not into instagram / tik tok or anything like that, I sometimes come across things by chance, I do not follow influencers, maybe that is why I took the video for what I thought it was, a nice film about nice things in life that could be enjoyed by everybody.

A 5 minute film about the good things in life probably reaches more people and more effective than Catherine giving a speech about the same subject.

I couldn't understand what there was to criticise, I couldn't see that anything was missing but I take your point that possibly others might expect a ' message' because that is what people are now used to and expect.

Like other posters I do wonder if this is leading up to something further down the line. Maybe more wellness gardens or even playparks. No doubt we shall find out or not if there isn't anything at the end.

As Eugene and William wandered through the well-kept grounds of Windsor Castle, the actor asked the Prince: "What do you do when you're home?"

While laughing, William replied: "Sleep… when you've got three small children, sleep was an important part of my life."

The special episode, Living The Royal Life In The UK, will air on October 3.

Another clip of William's appearance on the Relunctant Traveller series has been released.

Speaking to Levy, the creator of the sitcom Schitt’s Creek, for his TV programme The Reluctant Traveler, Prince William said: “I do miss my grandmother, and my grandfather.

“It’s been quite a bit of change, so… you think about them not being here any more, and particularly being in Windsor – for me, Windsor is her.

“She loved it here, she spent most of her time here. Showing you around today is very much a case of trying to make sure I’m doing it in the way she’d want you to see it.”

Sounds like he opened up a bit. Lovely musing about HMTLQ who is sorely missed, not just by William. I'm looking foward to listening to thefull episode.

A warm, candid and defining interview by Prince William - in his own words, on his terms.

In my view, he came across as content and comfortable in his own skin; rooted in his family, values and convictions; and purposeful in the way he chooses to live and embrace his destiny.

An extract from the Guardian coverage that, I think, sets out his approach to his role:

...With regard to his change agenda, William said: “I embrace that and I enjoy that change – I don’t fear it. That’s the bit that excites me, is the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think that need to happen.”

He added: “I think it’s very important that tradition stays, and tradition has a huge part in all of this. But, there’s also points where you look at tradition and go: ‘Is that still fit for purpose today? Is that still the right thing to do? Are we still doing and having the most impact we could be having?’”

Asked by Levy, star of the hit series Schitt’s Creek, if he thought about being king, William replied: “It’s not something I wake up in the morning and think about, because to me, being authentic and being myself and being genuine is what drives me.

“And then you can attach whatever labels and kind of roles that come on top of that, but if I’m not true to myself, and I’m not true to what I stand for and believe in – then it doesn’t really matter who you are, it gets lost.
I take my roles and my responsibilities seriously but it’s important, like I said to you earlier, you don’t feel they own you – you have to own them.

Another from BBC that speaks to his approach:

One palace staffer told me: "He's not afraid to ask questions about how and why things are done. If the answer is because that's how we've always done it then he just won't accept it..."

Don't expect the big stuff to change dramatically. There will definitely be a coronation. Trooping the Colour and Remembrance Sunday will remain fixed and important parts of the royal year, and jubilees and big occasions will still be celebrated.

But William as king will have his own way of doing things.

I loved the episode and it desperately made me wish I had an extra day to go to Windsor when I go to London later this month. The grounds are gorgeous and I was obsessed with the beauty and history of the rooms they toured.

I was especially struck by William's reflectiveness. We've always known family is important to him, but it was really fascinating to see how intent he is on making sure his children's childhood Is much different from his own, in multiple ways. He's right that if you don't give kids those safe, secure foundations, it can affect them so negatively in life. He has the personal experience and Catherine's early years work has no doubt reinforced those beliefs.

People are always so concerned that he's going to change things too much or that he's not working enough, but IMO, by focusing so much on his family right now, he's giving the monarchy a big boost by setting George, Charlotte, and Louis up to be happy adults who can go about their work while avoiding some of the foibles and scandals that have plagued prior generations of the family.

Personally I am thrilled that the Wales children do not have their own mobile phones at their ages.

But have they phones at all? There are phones for children, which can only dial one number... - the parents'.

I would imagine, the boys would like to play hide and seek and to climb into the trees and to disappear on their own into the park. They are in this age... A children phone might come in handy here. If they want or have to call, they can do this. And mommy can call them up for lunch.

The kids might have walkie talkies with an extended range that can let their parents and RPOs know where they are at all times.

I also enjoyed the episode. I like Eugene Levy, as a Schitt's Creek fan, and didn't know he has this show on Apple TV, so thanks William for pointing me to Levy's show. :D

I also noticed how introspective William is about his role, his family, and the monarchy. He has shown this side in recent interviews for print, but seeing it on television and seeing him talk made a stronger impression. He is certainly someone who has reflected a lot on how to make being a future king and king works in this day and age. The questions were submitted in advance, of course, so there was an element of the conversation being scripted, yet it still came across as an unusually candid exchange. I noticed he seemed emotional when, asked whether being royal or the job ever overwhelms him, he said no but admitted that it's family issues that do overwhelm him.

I also found the stories about his grandparents charming, and I appreciate he never claimed they were super close, but said they were from a different time and their relationship got better when his grandparents were in their 80s and learned to relax.

Windsor is absolutely beautiful, I hope I can visit soon. Orla is also such a beautiful, well-behaved doggo.
