A video shared this morning, obviously with more to come:
How old is the oldest person in the world?I read today that the oldest person on earth is now someone living near London. Any chance he might visit her as well?
A woman from the UK has become the oldest person in the world, at the age of 115 and 252 days.
Ethel Caterham, who lives at a care home in Lightwater, Surrey, reached the milestone following the death of Brazilian nun Sister Inah Canabarro Lucas, aged 116 on Wednesday.
Ms Caterham was born on 21 August 1909 and is the last surviving subject of Edward VII.
Celebrating her 115th birthday in August 2024, she said she "didn't know why there was all the fuss".
From her quotes about not knowing why anyone was making a fuss, it sounds like she might get on famously with the Princess Royal![]()

Shame it deserves attention as much as his other projects - though I know in the UK he has been criticised for going on hunting trips to the Westminster estates in Spain and also for his hunting/shooting parties at Balmoral and Sandringham. Some feel this questions his work with anti-poaching charities etcIt doesn't get as much attention as the Earthshot Prize, or even Homewards, but I really admire that William has done with United for Wildlife. I can only imagine how distressed he is by the attack on these rangers. My condolences to their families.
I am always amused when people see it as being incongruous if you support the protection of wildlife and rare species on the one hand, and are happy to hunt on the other. Two very distinct things in my view. Some journalists and publications often fail to understand the difference and conflate the two.Shame it deserves attention as much as his other projects - though I know in the UK he has been criticised for going on hunting trips to the Westminster estates in Spain and also for his hunting/shooting parties at Balmoral and Sandringham. Agree but I do feel that this plays into the media not getting behind his conservation projects for wildlife and anti poaching as much as they do for other projectsI am always amused when people see it as being incongruous if you support the protection of wildlife and rare species on the one hand, and are happy to hunt on the other. Nice footage of nature across the country with tiny sections of the couple on their visit to Mull
I think also if it was made known what was done with the killed animals such as being given to a place that serves the homeless etc which is something I think people would be ok with instead of people thinking this is just for sport.Shame it deserves attention as much as his other projects - though I know in the UK he has been criticised for going on hunting trips to the Westminster estates in Spain and also for his hunting/shooting parties at Balmoral and Sandringham.
