General News for Charles III and Queen Camilla Part 2, February 2024-

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
So, the king took it of the market. What is he going to do with it? Will he rent it out for others to live in or will it remain empty just so Camilla can have some privacy when she is in her own house once in a while?

Maybe we should wait and see.

Details of the use of the house are unlikely to be made public, IMO. That said, it has been suggested a security vetted tenant would be found for the property, which makes sense.

King Charles has bought the house next to Camilla's Ray Mill retreat to make sure that she can continue to stay there without being bothered by lots of people

Thank you, I had looked in the wrong thread. I think that it was the right action of Charles to buy that house. He wants to protect Camilla from all the harassment she had to endure for so many years. She is 77 years old and has accepted her role as Queen quite admirably, she deserves to get a little rest from it all once in a while.

King Charles III has cancelled his public engagements for Friday after experiencing temporary side effects during cancer treatment, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

Statement:
Following scheduled and ongoing medical treatment for cancer this morning, The King experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital.

His Majesty's afternoon engagements were therefore postponed.

His Majesty has now returned to Clarence House and as a precautionary measure, acting on medical advice, tomorrow's diary programme will also be rescheduled.

His Majesty would like to send his apologies to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result.

Yes indeed & yes to a speedy recovery.

As an aside I notice the BBC is up to its old tricks referring to "King Charles iii" or even worse just "Charles". Like many others in this country I loathe the BBC more & more as basic decencies & standards slip. The Today programme is practically unlistenable these days. No wonder ratings are dropping like a stone.

Like many others I no longer watch the BBC having cancelled my tv license.

It's not exacly difficult to refer to The King, HM or His Majesty.

Always a worry but not really at all unusual with many cancer treatments. They have done well to get this far without anything like this happening and impacting a still pretty full on set of public duties IMO. Fingers crossed he makes a very speedy recovery.

I find King Charles continued devotion to work, perhaps even more than when he was POW, both admirable and astonishing. He was a total workaholic as the POW and I expected him to ease back significantly as King, saving his passion for fewer but more focused Kingly and Governmental endeavours.

However, it seems that his workload has actually increased rather than eased up and to then hear that he is fighting the big 'C' it doesn't surprise me he is attacking this fight with the same indomitable spirit as the rest of his life's work. That he is suffering side effects is not surprising since it is a normal part of treatment, but our Charles initially took the odd day off.

However, the fact he is now once again feeling significant side effects makes me believe he is not improving which is a worry so I will keep him in my prayers. I am not ready to lose our King Charles III any time soon,

Interesting. Why did you think he would change as king in terms of him being a workaholic? Of course, he is getting older and I am glad that he is following the advice of his doctors but a personality trait will typically continue independent of the role - although in some cases it might make a slight difference when circumstances change but it this case, he is carrying even more responsibility now than before.

King Charles was seen leaving Clarence House this morning:

JMHO -- but, I have undergone similar treatments and the affects do become a bit more pronounced the more treatments you receive. It's usually a matter of 10-12 hours ... but, could be quite exhausting.

The King is not well enough to accept a full time state Visit with Gala Events in Italy.

I hope the King will recover soon. When will the Italy royal tour start, is it in april?

It's planned for April 7 to April 10, see our extra thread:

First prize - a day in Birmingham

Third prize - a week in Birmingham

I'm sure HM would have a chuckle if he read this. Got to see the funny side of life.:D

And to any Brummies out there - as Telly Savalas would say, it's our kind of town!
