Indeed! It is that time of year when a lot of people are ill. Hope she is well enough to attend the Remembrance weekend events coming up.
Yes indeed I was thinking that too .
The milder than usual weather is not helping the flu season!

Its hoped that the queen will be well enough to attend the Remembrance Day Service on Sunday.
However Queen Camilla will miss the annual opening of the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, where she will be represented by the Duchess of Gloucester.
Queen Camilla withdraws from engagements due to chest infection

My goodness. In view of everything that has happened over the past few years, in my humble opinion this resignation was the correct thing for Archbishop Welby to do. But what an end to an Archbishop of Canterbury’s career in the Church of England!

It’s really sad that the man officiating QEII’s funeral and KCIII’s coronation, and baptized 4 of The King’s 5 grandchildren ends his career like this - but i agree that resigning is the right thing to do, and the only thing he should do… Even though Welby is hardly the only one at fault in all this and i would be very surprised if not more heads will be rolling - the AB of Canterbury has always the biggest responsibility…

He also married Harry & Meghan. What a terrible way to end his career! I am glad he decided to step down and resign. It shows he has some conscience.
Quotes like "what you tolerate, you promote" and "indecision is a decision " come to mind. Welby knew about the abuses and yet chose to do nothing. Shameful!

Indeed and he has been the Archbishop of Canterbury since February 2013 ,the were growing calls over the weekend for him to resign and when the other Bishops started joined that chorus I was half expecting it.

Beth’s place in Royal history is assured through her likeness on the Queen Consort’s coronation gown. 👑

A beloved pet and such sad news over Beth's passing.

A special collection of watercolours by King Charles III of England are on display at The Garrison Chapel in London.

Queen Camila has been seen shopping for festive tea at Fortnum and Mason.

She selected the cinnamon and orange black tea …
sounds good.

King Charles attended Sunday church service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham yesterday, December 22:

A second series of Royal Warrants have been announced. They are made up of people who held Royal Warrants under the Late Queen and 7 who are appointed by Camilla.
Apparently, about 100 companies lost their status as royal warrant holder at the same time, among which Cadbury (chocolate) and Unilever.

See this NOS article in Dutch: Britse chocolademaker Cadbury verliest status van hofleverancier, Unilever ook

It is no surprise IMO that some lost a Royal Warrant. The late Queen’s reign was so long it was inevitable tastes and needs would change. Cadbury’s is a perfect example- a British chocolatier with some fine high quality products it is now American owned known for “cheap and cheerful” products with little chocolate content now competing with a high rise in more bespoke, ethical fine chocolatiers. Likewise I believe a number of Champagne houses lost their Royal Warrant- when a number were awarded them I’m sure the idea of English sparkling wine was laughable. Now it makes sense to save Royal Warrants for those products made here in the UK.

It would be interesting to see what other companies haven’t be re awarded a Warrant, purely out of interest. The Royal Warrant holders association has removed their database for “updating” so its hard to compare but I’ve spotted a few like Aspreys, Fulton Umbrellas and Launer handbags which don’t appear on the updated lists as of yet.

I think I read somewhere Boots the pharmacists use to have a Royal Warrant but it’s still pending and as of yet hasn’t been rejected nor re approved so maybe some are still to come.

The American owners of Cadbury are continuing to operate in Russia, which has caused some controversy. And they keep reducing the size of the bars!

It's a shame. It's such an iconic British brand. The Cadbury family were famed for how well they treated their workers in Victorian times, when conditions in most factories were pretty grim.

They are certainly getting in some air miles back and forth between Birkhall and London. Looks like one of them is off to Sandringham tomorrow.
