The Supreme Court rejects the complaint filed against King Juan Carlos I for tax crimes.
The Supreme Court has rejected the complaint filed against King Juan Carlos I for five tax offenses against the Public Treasury. This complaint was filed last November by a group of retired judges, retired anti-corruption prosecutors, and several legal experts, among others. The motion called for an investigation into several alleged irregularities committed by the monarch between 2014 and 2018, which, therefore, were not subject to a statute of limitations.

King Juan Carlos returned to Galicia to participate in the Sanxenxo regattas this weekend. The private plane carrying Juan Carlos I landed in Vigo this afternoon.

:previous: I think there is some meaning lost in translation. What does "The more lies you tell, the better you will see me!" mean?

I don't know, but he said exactly that...
What he might mean is that the lies they tell about him don't affect him.

My interpretation is that the more lies you tell, the more you will see him in a better/more favorable light (once you read his memoirs, I suppose).

The problem with reading what he said in a yellow tabloid is that often get misreported. Or, in this case, being completely taken out of context.

I'm not fond of Juan Carlos but what he textually said was "Estoy perfectamente. Podéis decir todas las mentiras que queráis, pero estoy bien. Veis que no voy en silla de ruedas".

Which means "I'm fine. You can tell all the lies you want but I'm fine. I'm not in a wheelchair".. The question from the journalist was about his health, and his answer was typical abrupt Juan Carlos but still referring to his health.

Context is everything to give factual news. Unfortunately too many websites "forget or delete" context to get clicks.
