Great! Wonderful to see them enjoying the last few days of their summer before Isabella goes back to school and Christian return to his military training! Glad they've enjoyed their summer with family and friends. King Frederik and Queen Mary have always made sure to enjoy important family time while still balancing that with their duties, responsibilities, official travel and engagements. They've done a great job of being the hands on parents they always inisted on being and be the CP Couple and now the Royal Couple. I mean at one time they were the CP Couple with 4 kids under the age of 6 including newborn twins and managed to make it all work.

Bella ain't going to be less popular among people after this!
The general public will of course find it great that Christian and Isabella attend such music festivals (Smuk Festival = Beautiful Festival = Because it's located in a very scenic forest.) and perhaps we will see King Frederik too this year. Some of you may recall that he a few years ago appeared on stage slightly intoxicated.
Anyway, as you can tell Isabella was there as well with some friends wearing matching T-shirts with the caption "Bollede ham/hende igår = got him/her laid yesterday." - Bollede is not as strong a word as f*cked. She was also wearing a jungle-hat I notice. Good idea, it's a surprisingly good and discreet way of remaining fairly incognito.
But it will endear her to people, making sure that she remains relatable, which is very much Isabella's force.
Because of course royal teens should let their hair down from time to time, just like the rest of the age group they are in.
And if this is as wild as it will get, well, enjoy it, I say.

I'm not really sure where to put this: Ingen kom – mens kendt designer afslørede hidtil ukendt detalje om dronning Marys mest ikoniske kjole
It's about the designer, Søren Le Schmidt. Who among other things created the dress Queen Mary wore on the balcony when they became the Regent Couple.
- He told some anecdotes at the music festival (which also contains elements of general culture) mentioned above. Apparently during a heavy thunderstorm. There weren't many to hear what he had to say though, only about ten.
He actually only got two weeks of notice before the event. So he got busy! But it was a proud moment for him.
But it is not the only time Queen Mary has worn this dress, seemingly unnoticed. Because the dress consists of pieces, so that the dress gets an entirely different look. He has noticed a few instances where she has worn this dress differently, but again it does not seem to have been noticed.

I recall him mentioning this before - that the dress had removable parts. He specifically mentioned the part that wrapped around the neck and had the piece hanging down the back. She wore this dress without the shoulder drape in the most recent official photos the royal couple took.

Princess Isabella was seen at the Smukfest music festival this week wearing quite a provocative t-shirt.

Great photos of Isabella. Glad she's having fun with friends and enjoying the festival. Good for her!! She looks great!

Indeed. And here we have Isabella doing what she is doing so well, capturing hearts and minds by being... Bella.
The newspaper this article is from asked for an interview which was politely declined, but she posed for several selfies requested by people at the festival, including the two ladies depicted in the article. One of them saying: "I'm so impressed by her. She's so present and sweet. I've not really been a royalist, but I am now."

If Isabella continue doing what she is doing now, she will be worth gold for the DRF and by extension Denmark. Going on official trips abroad may not be her thing, who knows, but less will suffice too. There are many protections where she can be relatively low key and interact with ordinary people. That is a lot of what Benedikte is doing. Because Isabella has got the talent, personality and relatability (if that's even word) to be a working royal.

And also at some point both QMII and Benedikte will slow down even more and Isabella could be a candidate to take over some patronages and do certain engagements, participate in incoming state visits (like Benedikte). She comes across as very personable, sweet, confident and natural. All 4 kids have been really been brought up amazingly by their parents and have been brought into public royal life/engagements at a good pace and never forced to do something either.

That is so great to read. That in Denmark you can run into your Royal family and they have no problem stopping for a selfie or answer a quick question is fantastic. Not roped up always in the VIP area or where pictures of them are not allowed to be published.

She did answer a few questions
"Do you have your family with you?
- No, it's just my brother, she replied promptly.
...
When asked if she enjoyed the festival, she replied:
- Yes, and she was quickly dragged further into the forest by no less than eight friends."

Some wonderful pictures of Isabella. They are a joy to see

Christian was also there today

Thanks for the articles. Her og Nu is a weekly gossip mag, while BT is a daily tabloid, so different journalists. And it is a given every year, that the various music festivals, especially those with well known names have a surprisingly good press-coverage... Odd coincidence, eh?
Anyway, the article again demonstrated that Isabella, despite her young age is a natural when it comes to interacting with people. There were a group of girls (I suspect they were younger teens) who noticed Isabella and pointed her out and instead of ignoring them or going away, she went over to them. A gesture that took perhaps five minutes of her life, but which is priceless. - And keep in mind that the royal roadshow is not on. She need not interact with the public. She could just remain behind barriers near the scenes, if she wanted to.
She's an asset! I really hope she will become a working member of the DRF.

ADDED:
I look very much forward to the next gala event within the DRF. Christian as the Crown Prince pretty much has to take part, that's part of his duties and training. But if Isabella also take part, then it may be an indication that she is at least testing the role of being a working royal.

Isabella does come across as a natural royal during both on and off duty time - she charms the public and her interactions are fun. Christian does seem more reserved our shy but he is the Crown Prince and has the responsibility of the future of the Monarchy in his hands.

I think it would be a shame not to have some form of official role for Isabella in the royal family

Mr Muhler , Prince Christian has to attend Official State Visit.
He lost his freedom for ever because this sudden and unforseen Abdication.

Isn't that a bit exaggerated?

Realistically it would not have mattered if his grandmother had abdicated or not, people in general (and especially here in the forum) would've expected him to fill in the position he has now as the "young" heir to the throne, regardless if he num. 1 or 2 in the line of succession and attend state visits if he was available.

I would love to remind of what King Philippe of Belgium had said recently: He wants to give his daughter (the crown princess) the freedom to do what she has/wants to do while young. I am certain that King Frederik would say the same if asked a similar question.

A nice article on the royal family attending the music festivals. Especially Christian and Isabella balancing being young but also royal.

Love that its so natural for the Royal family to be there. Not from obligation but of fans of the music

Various papers and magazines, some behind paywalls, report quite a lot from the Smuk Festival, that Isabella and Christian has been frequenting. (The place absolutely crawls with journalists who at the same time happens to enjoy the music...)
It is confirmed that Christian at least resided at Marselisborg, because the CP flag was up. Or more likely he resided at the annex about 100 meter or so from the manor itself. Along with a number of friends, female and male. It is speculated that Isabella and her eight female friends also resided there. That IMO seems likely because they were transported to and from Marselisborg in a minibus, that should easily be able to transport say sixteen young people. And escorted by two PET cars. Which to me suggests two teams of PET officers, one for Christian, one for Isabella. Because while the press seemingly have avoided photographing the PET officers, they were there.
And now it is reported that QMII has arrived at Marselisborg - perhaps to ensure that the place hasn't been turned upside down...

Lovely comments re royal couple and kids. He was interviewed at Smuk Festival.

– I know his parents. I have worked with Mary at the Mary Foundation because I am passionate about preventing bullying. I have also met King Frederik many times. It is a lovely family that I love very much. They are open, warm and committed to taking care of society and the world – and to ensuring that our children can go to school and kindergarten without fear or insecurity, says Mygind.

@Muhler Can you give context to who the gentleman is?

Thanks.

Yes, Peter Mygind is a well liked actor, among other things. He will be familiar to practically everyone at the festival, sober enough to focus on his face.

He is well known in Germany too. Public TV station ZDF is presently showing the crime drama series "Dan Sommerdahl" where Mygind plays the leading role
In the picturesque town of Helsingør, Dan Sommerdahl investigates exciting cases – often losing sight of his private life and marriage in the process. Based on the novels by successful Danish author Anna Grue.

Frederik spent some time in the water with his boat Nanoq.

And for once a note on the men's fashion 😉
"The soaked but smiling regent wore a jacket from Arctic Challenge, a memento from a training camp in Norway with war veterans nine years ago."

Queen Mary has participated in the TV programme "Søren Vester's Garden - Biodiversity and Castle Gardens".
It can be watched at www.dr.dk and will be broadcast this evening, August 20, at 8 p.m. on Danish DR 1:

I never thought I'd participate in a program about gardens. My knowledge of gardens is booming and was brought to life after we planted a small wild garden in Fredensborg.

Although nature has always played a major role in my life, I was still captivated by the joy of our wild garden.

It was a pleasure to show Søren Vester this part of our garden, which is both a small contribution to biodiversity and 'wildly' beautiful.

The TV program "Søren Vester's Garden - Biodiversity and Castle Gardens" is now available at www.dr.dk and will be broadcast tonight at 8 p.m. on DR 1.

Lovely photos. Love that she took part.
And always nice to see the family's pet join

Mary looks really nice. I'm glad she took part in this program and gave us a glimpse into their private gardens. Having a wild garden has been in the works for Mary for years, love that they put in practice what they have learned from experts into their family home and in the public gardens around the palaces.
"Søren Vester loves that the royal couple have created small paths in the private garden so that people can explore. It appeals to the child in you, he explains.
And so he went home from the visit with one idea for his own garden:
- The Queen and King have a huge oak tree covered in ivy, which is incredibly beautiful. It's a climbing plant, and when it blooms, it's really good for biodiversity too."

Love it. Looking forward to watching the episode. Yes, Queen Mary has been cultivating this wild garden for years. I also love that she did it in the palace gardens too. She's always talked about how being in nature is therapeutic for her and allows her to gather her thoughts and unwind including activities such as running or riding.
