Midt i travl juletid: Kong Frederik og dronning Mary er taget på privat tur til udlandet

Der er travlt i december for kongefamilien, der både har officielle programpunkter at tage sig af og også skal nå en del privat. Midt i travlheden er kongeparret rejst væk for en kort bemærkning.

Sunday evening, Mary attends the Girls Choir Christmas Concert. Monday morning, Frederik holds public audiences.
 
Well, it can hardly be Australia. So my guess is that they are going Christmas shopping somewhere. Something they may actually have done before, but wasn't noticed because they were then the CP-couple.
We may see them spotted at a Christmas market somewhere by a keen eyed photographer.

Alternatively they are attending a wedding, baptism somewhere. Anyone in the know about a major event this week in their circle of foreign friends?
 
I have not heard of anything. The only private event is the service for the King's sister in Sweden on 15th. But I'm not sure they'd attend that...more like QMII would attend.

Maybe Italy, Paris for a couple of days. Germany? Mary has an engagement on 15th and Frederik on 16th. Maybe Christian is returning and they went to meet him if he has a layover and then travel home?

Josephine's got a future with the camera for sure, she's always been a small performer as soon as there's a lense in sight! :) Quite rare for a royal, most of them shy away from the camera!

I noticed an Ahlefeldt among those who commented, perhaps they met during a visit to DK?

This looks like it was a super fun family wedding, and seeing the bride and groom’s happiness is uplifting.

Josephine is a really pretty young girl, and it was nice to see snippets of her (and Vincent and Mary) so relaxed and familiar with her Australian family and friends.

And finally, Mary and another woman in the video, I assume one of her sisters, could be identical twins.

I'm pretty sure Erin lived and studied in Copenhagen for a couple of months some years ago. She stayed with M&F so was no doubt introduced to their friends.
 
Or visiting friends.
Or continuing a Christmas tradition of going to Madrid.

While there they may drop by for a cup of coffee at the SRF, just as QMII at least used to drop by for a cup of tea at QEII when she went Christmas shopping in London.
 
I hope it turns out that the woman with whom Frederik was photographed here last year is also a friend of Mary's. How funny it would be if they were photographed together having coffee somewhere!
 
From the article it seems Isabella and Josefine are with them. Perhaps someone with better Spanish than mine can check.

Frederik, Mary, Isabella, Vincent and Josephine all went to Madrid carrief … and met up there with Christian.

I’ve just been looking at the hotel they stayed in … Hotel Santo Mauro on Calle de Zurbano.

What an opulent place, truly amazing decor.

The garden area, dining area, library … I’ll link the website below, lots of beautiful photos.

I think photos of the family walking down Calle Marques del Riscal street will come out.

It has been mentioned now in three reports I’ve seen, of Mary being affectionate with Josephine, hugging her.

And a report of Isabella and Josephine being taken by the Christmas street decorations.

Which I expect would be wonderful considering this part of the city is known as the Golden Triangle because of its high-end shops etc.

More proof to me that there is no infidelity. A woman like Mary would never do that. She wouldn't have gone to the same place he cheated on her, and with her children. Their children are not young and they certainly know about everything. It would suck for them too.

Willem-Alexander and Máxima may have attended as well.

I read the translation of that Semana article lula, what a carry on for a birthday party.

Imagine being the King or Queen of a nation and having your phone “sealed” so you don’t take any photos. Who really has power.

And in the end … not surprising when so many security people were involved, even the Spanish National Security … details have leaked out anyway.

From the outside it sounds quite dramatic, the measures taken.

I cannot imagine FX&QM having their phones "sealed," that's a security risk. PET would have a fit! Nor can I imagine anyone demanding a head of state to "seal" his phone. More likely they - might - have handed their phones over to their PET officer present as a matter of courtesy. But even that is very questionable.

The measures taken sound more like a secret summit than a fun social occasion Muhler.

I have a vague memory of a member of this family … who own Boehringer Ingelheim … having Danish Royals attend their party previously.

Or maybe they attended something the Danish Royal family put on.

And that company name is very familiar to me, a client for years that I was involved with here in Australia … direct marketing to doctors here.

Anyway, in the end I bet it was a spectacular experience for everyone.

It is this sort of “lifestyle” thing I envy the Royals for, far more interesting to me than the official stuff.
 
It's crazy to me the difference of lifestyle and acquaintances between the Dutch/Danish RF and the Spanish ones. King Felipe is the most noble of them all yet seems so low key and quite distant from the very very rich and powerful. The event happened in his country, yet he wasn't there.

The family is German and there is probably no connection to King Felipe.

Madrid is an increasingly popular city, and in addition to tourism, many students from central and northern Europe, from wealthy families (and several royal families), study at its private business universities.

The climate is warmer in Spain and although it is not the case here, there are many estates that offer luxury hunts that are popular with wealthy Europeans. The party attended by the Dutch and Belgians a few weeks ago was celebrated in a property that foreign millionaires rent out for hunting.
 
Which von Baumbach would be celebrating? The CEO of the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim is Hubertus von Baumbach, born in 1968 and in the same age group as the Danish King.

The property in question seems to belong to the Dukes of Albequerque.
