Future Royal Baby Names

A princess of England could be given the first name of Adelaide.
This would be in honor of Queen Adelaide, who was the wife of King William IV of the United Kingdom.
Even just shortly after her death, when the royals would have known her, her name didn't get used much.

The only exceptions being Victoria's eldest daughter Vicky who was Victoria Adelaide, and Mary Adelaide of Cambridge. Both women had Queen Adelaide as a godmother, and it was (and often still is) with the German royals, common to carry the names of a few godparents.

I’d love to see some very old but still conventional historical names return to the British line. I know Edward is still relatively common, but Edmund, Edgar, Malcolm, and Duncan would also be lovely to see used for princes. I could see Matilda, Edith, and Eleanor making a comeback among princesses.

I’m a little surprised that none of William and Kate’s children carried the name of Frances/Francis as it appears on both sides of the family.

Well, showing my age here, but there’s always Rowan Atkinson’s Prince Edmund Duke of Edinburgh, from the first comedy TV series Blackadder I, which was hysterical! But I agree, Edmund and Frances are due for a comeback in the RF.

Frances/is has only ever appeared via in laws. No born royal has been given the name in the BRF. Queen Mary's father and brother, and Diana's mother for the feminine.

But I agree it would be great to see some of the older, and especially some of the Scottish like Malcolm make an appearance again.

George V and Queen Mary's youngest child was John Charles Francis.

Third name of a sixth child of the king, fifth son. Named for his grandfather. Not the same as being Prince Francis. If going by middle names, not been that long since we had an Edmund. John's brother George had it as a final middle name.

A princess of England could be given the first name of Joan.
Joan of Acre (1272-1307) was the daughter of King Edward I of England.
Joan of the Tower (1321-1362) was the daughter of King Edward II of England.
Joan of England (1333-1348) was the daughter of King Edward III of England.
