When king frederick VII (then crown prince) met louise rasmussen, a dancer at the royal opera house, he was enchanted by her and took her to live with him at his country home jaegar priso.
by all accounts louise was a well educated woman, who started life as a governess in norway. she then moved to paris where she entered the fashion industry, but this did not satisfy her and she took up dancing. it was this that brought her to copenhagen, becoming the mistress of berling, a newspaper publisher .
she and berling had one son christian carl, who was given the surname of jacobsen. he later moved to weybread suffolk england, where he farmed. he was killed in a motor accident in 1908 being a widower for many years, he left two daughters. it was berling to introduced louise to the crown prince. (btw it is rumoured that he and the prince were lovers at one time!).
in time louise proved to be restraining influence upon the crown prince. he being a problem prince, who had a lamentadle taste of companions and had been in endless trouble. within two years of his accession to the throne, he married her in 1850 and created her countess danner !! however the leading ladies of denmark refused to recoginse or meet the kings wife (she was ostracised), resulting that the royal court was all male !!
but the government and the ministers tolerated the countess, as she had an astute political mind and she was the only person who could control the king !!
the king died 1863, his widow the countess died sometime later in 1874 !!

quite true......the king was infertile, it is said that when king louis philippe of the french was informed that the wife of prince frederick was with child, he remarked "god bless the father, whoever he may be!"
Didnt he have a Disorder Mythomania or something where he Was a Cumpulsive Liar and the Last To Rule without a Parliment as an absoulute Monarch
well i would not say he was a liar, but a dreamer !!. for example frederick had some how covinced himself that he had taken part in the great battles of the napoleonic wars.......when someone pointed out to him that he was but a small boy at the time...... he replied that he trotted along side the soldiers-he remembered well !!
yes the kings views were democratic!. shortly after his accession to the danish throne in 1848 (the year when revolutionary waves swept throughout europe), demands for more democratic rule was loud in denmark. after a procession of protests, the king declared on the 21st of march, that he intended to renounce the absolute rule and he had already taken steps towards forming a government responsible to the representatives of the people!!.
by the following year (1849) denmark had become a constitutional monarchy......yes the kings reforms was popular in denmark and the danish people had a great liking for him !!
