Princess Charlotte has announced she is also expecting her first child with husband Javier Valladares Urruela and his sister Princess Elisabeth has announced her engagement to Xavier Denis.

Mrs Charlotte Valladares, nee Princess of Bourbon Parma should have given birth by now - on the wedding where both Charlotte's met, she had much bigger belly than the Duchess of Noto (who gave birth ten days ago).

From May 5th to May 9th, Princess Marie-Françoise attended the Order of Malta's pilgrimage to Lourdes, France. The Princess attended prayers and masses, meeting many people, including current leaders of the Order of Malta.

Next year the pilgrimage is scheduled from May 3rd to May 7th and the presence of the Princess is confirmed. Nice to see Princess Marie-Françoise! She's 95 now!

Prince Carlos and Princess Annemarie, Duke and Duchess of Parma and Piacenza, visited Parma and Piacenza from September 21th to September 24th, as they do every year:

An engagement: Princess Elisabeth of Bourbon Parma, daughter of Prince Charles-Emmanuel and Constance de Ravinel, is engaged to a man named Xavier Denis.

Mr. Denis is working in finance. They are both living in Brussels.

The article shows photos at the engagement party in Spa, Belgium where Mr. Denis was raised.

The wedding will be in July in Normandy.

Lovely news. I imagine Zita is for the empress. Prince Jaime's daughter is also named that way. I suppose Amélie is for the maternal grandmother, the Hon. Amelia Drummond, and Constance for the paternal one.

:previous:

Apparently they discovered that Queen Sybilla of Jerusalem had a father, King Amaury. I imagine it has played a role in selecting the name? Though the text is behind paywall before it is explained why the fact was mentioned.

Also Amaury's youngest sister is named Zita, so perhaps the newborn Princess was named after her aunt, rather than after the late Empress.

Congrats to the parents and wider family! Wow, little Sybille has lots of hair!

I don't really understand why you would want to give a girl a boy's name (Joseph) but I guess for Catholic families that is less strange as many boys are also named Marie/Maria.

The newborn's first name, Sybille, could also be a reference to Amaury's paternal aunt, Princess Sybille of Bourbon-Parma (b.1954), the only one among Charles-Emmanuel's full sibilings who is still alive (he has half-sibilings on his father's side: certainly Amélie of Bourbon-Parma, and Serge and Hélène "of Yugoslavia" are also biological children of the late Prince Michel, by all accounts).

It's also the case, for example, of Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz of Belgium's children, who bear their godparents' names, including the one of the godparent of the opposite gender. For example, Prince Amedeo and Prince Joachim have, respectively, "Paola" and "Isabelle" among their given names, after their godmothers (maternal grandmother and paternal aunt)

I only read the article now ... There's no explanation as to why they chose the name Sybille. The fact that Queen Sybille of Jerusalem's father was called Amaury is a coincidence they discovered afterwards.
A more interesting detail is actually Pélagie opening up about the fact she suffers from endometriosis. She was delighted she got pregnant so soon, expecting it to be a rocky road to motherhood. Congrats to her! Sybille looks beautiful, a real doll from the start. Apparently she looks just like her dad did at the same age.
Amaury & Pélagie will be opening an educational farm in the Eure departement (Normandy) later this year. The family lives in Paris during the year.

Thanks! A funny coincidence indeed. They seem to be a lovely couple.
I imagine an educational farm is a farm where visitors or schools can learn about agriculture?
Pont Audemer is in Eure I believe, a lovely area of France.

On July 6th, Princess Elisabeth religiously married her fiancé Xavier Denis in the Church of Saint-Aubin, Tourouvre au Perche, France.

To clarify: No official photo albums or articles from Histoires Royales or Point de Vue have yet been published. I think we should wait a little longer.

Princess Elisabeth's wedding dress, very beautiful, was made by Atelier Boisanger. Princesses Charlotte and Zita wore beautiful dresses with floral motifs.

On August 26th, Prince Carlos, The Duke of Parma, and the Ignacio Larramendi Foundation have established a pious mass foundation in the Diocese of Trieste, Italy, under the name of "Pía Fundación Familia Real Carlista".

"In the interest of preserving the memory of Carlism, both Don Carlos and the Ignacio Larramendi Foundation (an initiative begun together with its president, now deceased, Don Luis Hernando de Larramendi y Martínez) have decided to establish a pious mass foundation, which was erected by the Bishopric of Trieste, and whose purpose is the celebration of an annual Holy Mass in favor of the deceased of the Carlist Royal Family".

These masses will take place in November in Trieste and the Duke of Parma will be present.
