Yes, this visit isn't just for fun, especially these days were trade is being rerouted and new trading alliances created. DK is a small country we are used to exploit every little asvantage we May have. In this case our special Australian connection. Had the visit taken place just a little later, they could have brought along their youngest.

I thought maybe some of the children would come too after seeing their photos put up by the Danish Embassy here at the multi cultural day in Canberra a few weeks ago Muhler. Their whole display seemed to be about the Royal Family and the State Visit.

I wonder how the couple …and the many members of the business entourage and Danish media … will make their way here to Australia now the normal air-routes are closed.

Not only are people trapped in different parts of the Middle East unable to get out, but some have got caught just on their stopover in Dubai coming back here from Europe.

A lot of our air-routes stop over in the Middle East … Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi. Change planes, crew, refuel etc.

The tv news has shown people trapped here at our airports unable to get home to Germany and the UK.

Some air-routes go through Singapore, Bangkok or Hong Kong, but really the Middle East was a major route between us and Europe.

Guess it will all work out in the end, but so many people fly these days and each day the backlog must be growing.

Some reports about the visit said two billion dollars … Australian dollars … were hoped to be generated in trade between Denmark and Australia following it.

I think they would fly via Asia before coming through North America Muhler, but things seem to be getting more gridlocked as the days pass and this major air corridor remains shut.

Another problem is pilots and crews being stranded in the wrong places even if the air space is deemed safe and re-opened which still seems unlikely.

Hopefully they were always coming via Singapore so won’t be affected too much.

Per BB - Deputy Prime Minister Troels Lund Poulson will now not be traveling to Australia due to the election being called. He is the party leader of the Liberal Party. Now clear if the other 2 ministers scheduled to go will still be going (Lars Lokke Rasmussen and Lars Aagaard - in IMO neither will go to Australia). So, what happens now? So, no ministers will accompany the Royal Couple?

BB also asked if the State Visit would still move forward. Per the royal court: The King and Queen's visit to Australia will be carried out with a few adjustments, which will be announced later. The dates of the visit will not change, according to the announcement from the royal family.

Well, the Regent Couple are the main characters anyway and any agreements to be signed are already in place by now. So someone lower down the pecking order can accompany the Regent Couple.
What does make a difference are the talks behind the scenes that the Danish Foreign Minister and Defense Minister/deputy PM might have had with the Australian government. But as DK is now run by a business ministry they wouldn't be able to say that much anyway. It would make more sense for the new foreign minister to fly out to Australia later once a new government is in place.
So not that big a difference to the public spectacle.
I would be more worried about the war in Iran spreading to a point where it could influence a state visit. But I think the war will be ending by the time of the visit.
