The official Reunion Celebration begins on the morning of 13 June 2021, where the Queen, Crown Prince and Prince Christian in a carriage will drive across the old border at Frederikshøj south of Kolding. The carriage ride will take place in the same place as Christian 10. on 10 July 1920 rode over the old border on the white horse Malgré Tout accompanied by Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Knud on horseback and Queen Alexandrine and Princess Thyra in the carriage. 101 years later, Christian 10.'s granddaughter, great-grandson and great-great-grandson will once again cross the old border, where an interpretation of the sport of honor from 1920 has been set up. Subsequently, the Queen, the Crown Prince and Prince Christian participate in a festive service in Haderslev Cathedral. Here, too, German Federal President HE Frank-Walter Steinmeier and wife Fr. Elke Büdenbender and Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Mr. Bo Tengberg participate.
In the middle of the day, the Queen visits the new reunification park at Folkehjem in Aabenraa. The Reunification Park is Aabenraa Municipality's new national park in front of the historic Folkehjem, which played an important role before - and after - the Reunification in 1920. In 1918, the Folkehjemmet formed the framework for the adoption of the Aabenraa resolution, which became crucial for the final Danish-German demarcation.
The Queen continues the day in Sønderborg, where the Queen, Germany's Presidential Couple and Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Mr. Bo Tengberg participates in a ceremony at Kongeskansen at Dybbøl Banke. After the event at Dybbøl Banke, a visit will be made to the German minority's new museum in Sønderborg, the Deutsches Museum Nordschleswig. Subsequently, the Queen watches a reunion show at Alsion in the late afternoon.
