The Swedish Armed Forces:
HRH The Crown Princess has supplemented her officer training with an in-depth study of the Swedish Air Force's operations during the autumn. The Crown Princess has gained insight into the practical and strategic work in the defence branch.
The in-depth study, conducted by the Swedish Air Warfare Centre, aims to give the Crown Princess a thorough insight into the Air Force's operational activities. It has spanned the entire air domain with its unique environment and has included history, air and space power, operational planning, management, air base concepts, air defense, future studies, innovation and development.
– The goal has been to provide an insight into the air and space domain and knowledge of what the Swedish Air Force stands for, says Chief of Air Force Jonas Wikman.

To conclude, the Crown Princess also got to fly the Jas 39 Gripen over northern Sweden.

During the spring of 2026, Victoria will deepen her knowledge about the Swedish Army, the land force of the Swedish Armed Forces.

The Swedish Air Defence Regiment (Luftvärnsregementet, Lv 6) published a short video some days ago:
"HRH The Crown Princess visited the Air Defence Regiment during the autumn as part of an in-depth study within the Air Force. The Crown Princess tested the Robot 70 simulator and received a briefing on all the different systems the Air Defense trains on. Not least the simulators needed to practice attacks by drones, robots and other threats from the air."

Victoria spoke at Folk och Försvar (Society and Defence) Annual National Conference with Expressen's reporter also about her military training.
How far has the Crown Princess come in her military training?
Victoria laughs, gathers herself and says that it's like never ending.
Is there army training going on now?
– Yes, I finished the officer program last spring and there was a focus on the air force last fall, which was also great to get that part of the defence. And now the focus will be on the army.
Victoria says that learning the different branches of the Armed Forces gives a better insight and understanding of the whole and how the different parts of the Armed Forces interact with each other. Especially in the situation the Armed Forces are in today, where it is being equipped and other tasks have been added such as NATO membership where Sweden has been given new tasks and areas of responsibility. There is activity in all domains these days, even space.
The Crown Princess sounds like a general!
– No, no, no. No, no, no, I'm staying down there, she says.
