Crown Princess Victoria Jewels 4: Jun 2023 -

I'm getting tired of constantly seeing that tiara on someone who has the pick of the vaults. I love Victoria, but she is very unimaginative with her use of jewellery.
Is it lack of imagination or just sentiment? None of the other tiaras were left to her by someone she loved, so there’s an emotional incentive to wear something she likes.

(I too am not fond of this one, period, and have to hope it looks better on Estelle.)

The Laurel Wreath Tiara is tricky to wear and is clearly made for hairdo’s of another time and era than ours…

Having said that, i completely understand why Victoria wears it… She loved Princess Lilian enormously… And tbh Victoria has never been much for coming dripping in diamonds from head to toe ”just because she can”, like some other people in her generation does…

I don't entirely believe it
or at least my perspective changed when I saw Victoria for the first time
at Polar Music
in the jewelry doc, she practically said that her father limits her, and this also follows the same line with Christina and the buttons, Madde and her fringe, Sofia and her palmettes

Victoria had also the floral diamond earrings from the family collection, the diamond brooch she got from princess Lilian and her own diamond pendant:

She had the Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara with this gown at the Spanish State visit in 2021, so it's nice to see her having a different tiara with the gown now.

The Boucheron Laurel Wreath has been over used by Victoria and time to wear a different tiara and give it a break.

I looked back and she wore this tiara 2 times out of her 5 tiara appearances of 2024. It is her personal tiara which is probably why it features more (other than her 18th birthday tiara - which I can assume none of us want to see again). Ive grown to like it over the years since she inherited it.

At last time it seems that her hairdoo was a bit softer yesterday then usual

The Swedish ladies too, have become very predictable in jewellery the last years. I wonder why we never see any of the leftover jewellery from Princess Lillian. Even alot of these pieces, even the fake ones, would look lovely on Crown Princess Victoria. For example one of the pearl chokers or snake bracelet?

Didn't queen Silvia inherit one of Lillian's pearl chokers?

She also inherited the scarab necklace, but it seems not to her taste as she hasn't worn it.

She is a bit like Queen Sonja, seems to have more fun with modern swedish jewellery, and for galas she goes for what she likes and feels safe in. Probably she is not that excited about the vaults like some of her collegues. She has had access to pretty much what she wants for 20 years (she has afterall said she does not want to wear the grandest pieces, they are for the Queen).

She had a super fashionable period around her wedding, lots of forreign design and new jewels from the vault, but now she seems to value swedish designer more for both fashion and jewels, and with a few gala exception it is not very exciting, but it gets the job done.

Whilst each of us can fall into a rut, I think Victoria has far fewer choices in the plain diamond category than is apparent. The 4 & 6 button tiaras are quite challenging designs. She wore the Baden Fringe as her principal tiara for many, many years. And she uses the Connaught and Baden now as her big guns. Which leaves the Boucheron as her go to tiara in the lighter tiara category.

The fringe is beautiful on her and the Connaught is stunning. If she wore the latter all the time, however, we’d probably get sick of it, too.

I would like to see her try out the nine pronge tiara or the ruby tiara

I suspect she is leaving the Nine Prong in the Queen category for now. But it would be lovely to see Victoria give the ruby tiara a go.

I like the Baden Fringe Tiara, the Cut Steel Tiara, the Laurel Wreath Tiara and the Karl Johan Tiara (Six button) best on Victoria. I don't like the Connaught Tiara on her at all - the tiara doesn't have character and it looks like it is made for a Cinderella movie, it doesn't suit a strong woman like Victoria at all.

I think the ruby tiara would be good indeed. We have not seen it on the Queen for many years. It could be out of respect for Pss Marianne perhaps.

The Edwardian tiaras of CPss Margaret all have the same issue: they were meant to be worn with lots of hair behind it. All of them now look somewhat 'empty' on modern hairstyles. The designs themselves are elegant, delicate and light. They make nice tiaras but IMO they look especially beautiful as necklaces. It would be lovely if CPss Victoria could perhaps alter the frame of her Laurel tiara and use it as a necklace once more.

The Baden Fringe works well for Victoria, and she has worn it many, many times. I would like to see her use the Connaught tiara more.
It hasn't worked well in the past but that is more to do with how its worn and the hairstyle.
It looked really beautiful on Princess Sybilla and Queen Silvia.

It was worn in 2022 and 2023 by Queen Silvia. Maybe this tiara is seen as for the queen only now? But it would be great to see it on Victoria.

What we do not know is if it is Silvia who defines the Ruby tiara as for use by the Queen only, or it is just a tiara that Victoria has little interest in. That said, I would love to see Victoria give this somewhat challenging tiara a go.

Another problem with the ruby tiara is that it is very high and not very wide. Don't think it would look good if Victoria has her hair as straight back as she has it usually.
As for the laurel wreath tiara originally it was not a tiara but a necklace. I looked good on Princess Lilian because of her hairstlye whre the empty space between the 2 rows was not so visible as it is on Victoria.

Pearls really haven't been fashionable for young ladies for some time, so I suspect the necklace languishes in a safe somewhere.
It would be nice to see them worn again,Victoria has worn other pearl necklaces over the years.

Perhaps we will see it on Estelle in a few years when she starts to attend Galas.

Yes I was thinking that perhaps we will see it worn again at Estelle's 18th?

Though wearing pearls is much in fashion as menswear these days so maybe Oscar will be the next one to wear it.
