Crown Princess Mette-Marit diagnosed with chronic lung disease: October 2018

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I had NO idea that Der Kaiser has had a lung transplant! Him being as active as he is and having such a great voice shows how much you can bounce back after a successful transplant.
Roland Kaiser had a transplant in 2010 and is fit and well, going on Tour and performing in front of huge audiences at the age of 73. He has a different illness though, COPD, what has a better prognosis than fibrosis.

The court has previously informed the public when Mette-Marit has been ill or on sick leave, including during the pulmonary fibrosis diagnosis and later periods of reduced activity.
TV 2 sent an inquiry to the Palace yesterday. They asked whether Mette-Marit is currently on sick leave, and if so, for what period. They also asked about the status of the planned private trip that was previously reported, and whether the Palace can say anything about when Mette-Marit will resume her official duties.
In an email, communications manager Guri Varpe responds:
– As is known, the Crown Princess has the chronic disease pulmonary fibrosis. As we communicated in December, there has been a clear negative development in the Crown Princess's health recently, and preparations have begun with a view to an assessment for a lung transplant. The Crown Princess has an increasing need for tailored training, rest and recovery, and her official program is adapted to her health condition.

Sounds like a non-answer: there is no 'adapted program' at the moment, just 'no official program'. They do not discuss the 'previously announced trip' and now pretend that it is all about her health, while earlier it was clearly communicated that she would be 'away' during the trial. Of course, it is not unlikely that her health also plays into this but based on all communication so far, it is about the combination of multiple issues that makes it desirable for MM to be out of sight as much as possible.

Let's hope she will soon be able to get a succesful transplant. It is a horrible disease and while some indeed will manage, others may not. The Dutch photographer / artist Erwin Olaf, who made some portraits of the RF as well, died at 64 some weeks after a lung transplantation.

Combined with MM's general reluctance for the role it may be easy to get cynical but the disease is real and serious.
