If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Prince Moulay Hassan participated in the opening ceremony of the 16th session of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco, organized under the solemn patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, from 22 to 28 April.

Crown Prince Moulay Hassan was photographed driving a car.

Will they have separate threads when Lalla Khadija turns 18?

I don't understand something on these videos. When the military show respect for his rank or political and religious position (reminds me of religious leaders in Christian denominations) they try to kiss his hand he quickly retires it.

Is that what is expected by the person greeting him from the prince in advance or, is it that he feels uncomfortable with this part of the protocol?

He has done this for ages, so I guess he is uncomfortable with it. Not sure why they don’t establish that with the people he meets in advance.

I think this might some normal part of protocol. I have seen Princess Lalla Khadija do it as well.

I have also seen it in very old footage of European royals.

It looks like he's been rude toward the greeter showing reverence for his highness. Reverential treatment is part of the protocol where you are a president, monarch, religious leader or a combination of all of it because the individual represents the nation. It just looks odd when you see him snatching his hand out of a greeting so fast.

But what we see as rude might be normal in other cultures. As I said I have seen not only his sister do the same but royals in other countries.

While this looks very awkward I have read that it is a sign of humility and expected.

It’s already been established that the children don’t like it, but old habits die hard. Protocols change in many cultures and societies.

Let me digest that article again...
Excerpts
"...A huge motorcade of ultra-luxury cars set off from the airport runway and escorted the princess and her son to the villa they had rented. Ten of these vehicles were only used to transport their luggage. It adds that the Princess was not particularly impressed by the villa decoration, so she ordered three truckloads of furniture on another flight.

...Three years before their divorce the royal couple visited Greece and spent about 5 million euros for their 7-day vacation in the Ilia region, on the western coast of Peloponnese...

During their stay, thrones, red carpets, tents, marbles, portraits of the King, as well as food, drinks and thousands of other objects were delivered to Ilia, while a big part of the beach in front of the hotel they stayed was specifically configured for them so they can enjoy their breakfast, lunch and dinner."

Well, she is no different than any celebrity out there that travels with security and an entourage. But I never expected Lalla Salma to be at the Beyonce, Madona, Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga levels of comfort and hotel furniture demands.

When we go on vacations and stay-overs the last thing I want was to be reminded of home. From food to surroundings, I want to experience the opposite of what we go back to. I don't understand why bring so much stuff from home and then take it back instead.

thrones...portraits of the King? 😲

It's rare that we see Lalla Salma out in public since her divorce from the King. Glad she and her son the Crown Prince are able to generously contribute to the Greek economy.💰

The Moroccan economy would like to have a word with the Greek economy.

I hope the Crown Prince has the maturity to learn from this and when it's his time to rule he is aware how a public persecution image is important for the image of a country's leadership. Especially on a monarchy.

I notice the Crown Prince shakes hands normally with the children and has a pleasant countenance with them. As we've all notice his handshake with adults (men) is very weird, rapidly withdrawing his hand before they can touch his and especially if they try to kiss his hand. Is he concerned about germs from the kiss more than the handshake. [......] Any thoughts?

It has been said that they don’t like that form of greeting (kissing his hands) as it’s a very old fashioned way of greeting.

Thank you SirGyamfi1, that completely makes sense.

I also apologize earlier if I appeared insulting and insensitive to another culture. I don't even remember what I said but thank you to the moderator for cleaning my post up.:flowers:

I think it has been discussed before. Both the king's children do this with adults. It is considered a show of humility to not have someone kiss your hand. It is expected by those trying to kiss their hands. I have seen old footage of European royals doing this as well(Queen Marie of Romania is one I remember in particular).

This is an interesting relationship President Xi Jinping has with Morocco. The King has a lot of confidence in his son Crown Prince Moulay Hassan to meet and greet with the leader of China and then continue further with conversation.
