Crown Prince Christian's Military Studies & Term of Service: 2025 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
A great update/news on his military training and education. Takes it step by step. Both Frederik and Mary have commented how Christian is thriving in this environment so it's good to see his development and further education in the military.
Thank you Muhler for the added information.

The lifeguards have commented and mentioned he wont be on guard duty in the palaces.
"The Chief of the Royal Life Guard, Colonel Mads Rahbek, comments in this regard:
"We are looking forward to receiving H.K.H. The Crown Prince this summer.
H.K.H. The Crown Prince will serve at our Education Battalion, II/LG, which is responsible for educating our military personnel. ”
The head of the Education Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Henrik Schirrmacher, has the following comment:
"I am sure that H.K.H. the Crown Prince will have an exciting time in the meeting.
H.K.H. The Crown Prince will be a platoon leader and help educate the future military members, who will be in August 2026. ”
Like other lieutenant in the Education Battalion, H.K.H. the Crown Prince will not become part of the guard service around the royal castles and palaces."

"The then Crown Prince Frederik served his military service with the Life Guards at Høvelte Barracks. He was promoted to sergeant in 1987, where he received new recruits."

That's wonderful news! We don't need constant updates and photos of his military training. That ends up looking performative. The updates we've gotten so far have been more than enough to show what he's done and what is up next for his military education. So glad to hear from his parents that he's thriving in his military education/training.

Glad they clarified he won't be guarding palaces. It would look a bit silly if you had PET officers guarding the guard. LOL.

I have a question about Christian's military career. As I understand, in Denmark, you don't get a bachelor's degree together with an officer's commission at a military academy as in the USA, Canada, Belgium, or Spain. So, after Christian finishes "Lieutenant School", does he have to go into the Reserves to attend university and get a bachelor's degree? Or can he attend a civilian university while being still on active duty? Is there a minimum number of years that he has to serve before being moved into the Reserves?

The UK military academies/colleges are not degree-granting institutions either, but British royals like Prince William or recently Arthur Chatto avoided the aforementioned problem by going to university and getting a degree first, and then doing an officer's commissioning course followed by active service, which is what most British officers who also hold university degrees seem to do now. You can actually attend a civilian university in the UK on an Armed Forces bursary, join a University Training Corps while you are studying, and then join a military academy or college later ti earn a commission. In fact, there is not even an obligation to join, except for certain types of full-ride scholarships, mostly for people who are going into the medical or engineering corps, which require prior degrees to join anyway as I understand it.

Correct.
Christian would get his bachelor at the university, which he can attend while on active duty. Either basically being on leave as a private individual or while paid as a part of his service.
There is no minimum required before going into the reserves.
Christian is (may be) going the traditional Danish way, first officers academy then the university.
He is expected to upgrade his education alongside his military career, if he was a career officer that is.
I.e. he may get a degree in communication if he is destined to be a PR officer. Or a degree in economy if he wish to go into the Materiel Command and so on.

How long will Crown Prince Christian have to serve in the Royal Guard?
