I personally find it hard to believe that that was the collective expectation within the family (or among any informed royal watchers even) as stripping the kids of their titles upon marriage would require the monarch to deny hers or his blessing for said marriage and the outward objective of that is just awful.

"Awards from the Nikolai and Felix Foundation 2025
The Nikolai and Felix Foundation aims to support humanitarian, cultural and educational purposes in or outside Denmark.
The board of directors participated in the board meeting of the Nikolai and Felix Foundation on May 27, 2025.
In 2025, the foundation granted a total of DKK 885,000 to 28 projects, with DKK 220,000 for cultural purposes, DKK 270,000 for social and humanitarian purposes and DKK 395,000 for educational and research purposes, including an honorary donation to Engineers Without Borders Denmark.
The board meeting took place at Amalienborg, and the following projects were granted support:"
