"We are entering the last weekend before Christmas, and Christmas peace is beginning to descend on Skaugum Hovedgård. While the snow has settled outside, the inside has been decorated with, among other things, traditional Christmas decorations that Crown Princess Märtha brought with her from Sweden and a great gingerbread house."

"It is the fourth Sunday in Advent and the Palace is decorated for Christmas.

In Røde Salong, the Christmas tree is decorated in gold and red. Some are old, some are new. In the vestibule you are met by a large tree with balls made of cloth, many of which are decorated with glass stones.

The over six-metre-high tree on the Palace Balcony is decorated with over a hundred lights and illuminates those crossing the Palace Square"

"The King and Queen of Norway will celebrate Christmas at the Royal Lodge, Kongsseteren, in Oslo with the Crown Princely family, the Norwegian royal court says. They will all attend church at Holmenkollen Chapel on Christmas Day."

:previous: King Harald had gone to the hospital. Might this have delayed the Christmas shoot?

"The Crown Prince family would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

It was a slightly different run-up to Christmas this year and the Crown Prince family is grateful for all the consideration that has come while the King has been in hospital, and are very happy that he is now home."

Many nice Christmas and New Year's greetings have arrived from all over the world, much to the delight of the Royal Family.

On behalf of the entire family, the Royal couple sends their best wishes for 2023.

The CP-Couple should have hosted a Christmas Service for volunteers from non-profit organisations at the Palace Chapel this afternoon, but CP Mette-Marit had to cancel due to the fact that she was diagnosed with COVID today.
So CP Haakon was accompanied by Ingrid and Sverre Magnus instead.

Covid seems a greater risk for the crown princess than for most. Hopefully she will recover swiftly.

Great to see that her children stepped in for her and attended the Christmas service.

The Royal Family has released a lovely Christmas photo today.

It was taken yesterday, therefore Crown Princess Mette-Marit sadly isn't included due to her current Covid infection, but nevertheless it's a lovely photo:

A very Merry Christmas to everyone from the Royal Family ✨?

This year's Christmas photo was taken at Kongssetra at Voksenkollen in Oslo. Unfortunately, the Crown Princess could not attend due to covid.
