King Charles III and Queen Camilla will make a states visits to the Holy See and Italy in April, the British Royal Household has confirmed.
The King and Queen will undertake State Visits to the Holy See and Italy in early April 2025.

The State Visits will celebrate the Catholic Church’s 2025 Jubilee Year and the strong bilateral relationship between Italy and the UK.

Let's hope the pope is well enough to receive them.
I have a bad feeling about it. The Pope's health is frail and if he is still under medical care the King might not be able to meet with him. And King Charles also needs to worry on his own health, too, if he's undergoing a follow up treatment himself that requires to stay away from anything he could catch himself.

Let's hope for the best and I want to see a big state gala dinner at any of the old palaces like Quirinal or, why not, the Royal Palace of Caserta.

That makes a lot of sense. I assume they've known for quite some time now that it would be unlikely this visit could go ahead as planned, so in that case, there are two options: either change the program or postpone the visit and apparently, visiting with the pope was deemed most important.

Sad about the postponement but still looking forward to the remaining engagements in Italy.

It is most unfortunate that King Charles and Queen Camilla will not have a papal visit with Pope Francis I.
