William discussed in his interview how this year was the hardest in his life and how he had to combine his private life with his job. Some media seem to suggest that he had to pick up the slack from his father and therefore had to increase his workload but in reality William has been doing less instead of more at least in the first 8 months of the year - prioritizing his family. Of course, that also applies to Charles and Catherine who were partly on sick leave. Of the 4 most senior royals, only Camilla did about the same number of engagements as last year.

Comparing the numbers for 2022 (note that up until this point the Queen was still alive, so they had different roles - and the numbers include the Jubilee activities), 2023 and 2024 (for both Charles, Camilla, William and Catherine):
