Congratulations to parents, grandparents and big sister!

Welcome to the world, Hélie Bagory!:fireworks:

Saw the post this morning on Maria Teresa's instagram announcing her 9th grandchild.

Congratulations to both families especially the couple and the new big sister.

7-2 for boys in this family. Nice historic French name you don't commonly see.

Hurray! I was concerned that she would go into labor at her brother's Enthronement a couple of weeks ago. She seemed so uncomfortable.

I admit that I am surprised by the infant's name. I have never heard it before. Is it a Breton name? Is it popular in France or in the Grand Duchy?

Its a variation of Élie which is more popular in France (from what I can find the Helie version is just outside the top 1000 names in France).

Both are commonly seen as a variation of the Hebrew name Elijah.

Wonderful news!!

Maria Teresa's announcement today:

"What immense joy for my husband and I to welcome our ninth grandchild!"🩵
Princess Alexandra and Mr. Nicolas Bagory are delighted to announce the birth of their son Hélie, on Friday, October 17, 2025. Their daughter Victoire shares in this great joy.

Congratulations to the couple and their families! I admit to having to google the pronunciation of this name but I’m sure for native French speakers it is much easier!

Congratulations to the both families!!!!

Congrats to Alexandra and Nicolas and welcome petit Helie!

I love his name, unexpected but I really like It. I really like the sibset Victoire and Helie, I think it's safe to say that Alexandra and Nicolas' naming style Is classic with historical references.

excellent news! and what an unusual but beautiful name!

Unusual name but very much in line Nicolas' Breton background.

Congratulations to the couple!

I believe the Breton spelling of the name would be Eli.

Congratulations to them!

Congratulations to the parents, sister and wider family. I had never heard of the name either; however, it's not a surprise they went for another traditional French (non-family) name.

Helie's name is pronounced in this video.
I wouldn't trust a 'generated voice' for the correct pronunciation of the name.

The name is a short derivation of Breton names like Hélier, Hélibert – meaning “joyful” .
The correct Breton spelling is Hélie.
The name Hélie is another form of Élie, French forms of Elijah. The Breton form of Elijah is Elia. Hélier, Hélibert, and Hélie do not conform to Breton orthography. The correct information about the name is a few posts above the one I quoted and can be easily verified using French and Breton language sources.

French language wiki is surprisingly accurate in its article about the name Hélie.

In the video above both chidren's name are pronounced wrong. Way off. What a joke of a video. Maybe people should not post AI slop like this on here. Ugh
