I like the coat and dress more at the Orange Fund event than the way she wore it on Queensday. I like the big brooch, and didn't care as much for the big necklace and earrings she wore on Queensday (or at least not with that outfit).

I also like her more with her hair loose than with the big hat.

All in all beautiful.

When the RVD says that the baby will come in July, the real due date is in June. Just like Amalia, the RVD said that the baby would come begin January 2004 and she was born 7 December 2003.
The only strange thing is that Willem-Alexander and Máxima will visit the International architecture Biënnale, 26 May

Last year I already said that Maxima will have her baby before mid-july and now I´m absolutely sure.

It's surprising to see Maxima recycle an outfit. She doesn't do so very often. She looks lovely though.

When Maxima was pregnant with Amalia she wore an outfit in the same exact color at for the same event.

The prince and princess tell the pers that the baby will be born in July . So in July , they will get no rest because everybody wants to know , if the baby isn't born yet . So if she delivers in june , the pers will not be around always ,because they think she's only 8 months pregnant . So she can spend her last days pregnant in comfort , wtihout pressure from outside . But I think it's not gonna work this time Because they said that Amalia would be born medio January , but she came a month earlier!! and she was a perfectly healty baby . It's also in Belgium . The first time , Mathilde would due in november , but Elisabeth was born on 25 ocotober , The second time , she would due in september , but Gabriel came on 20 augustus . And now , I wouldn't be suprised if she due in september Just like Maxima would due in june ...

Maxima's Sweet Gesture at Apples of Orange Awards
Crown Princess Maxima of the Netherlands, elegant in a soft gold coatdress fastened with a bejewelled brooch, had some sweet words for her mother-in-law at the Apples of Orange Awards at Noordeinde Palace on Thursday.

Hosting the event with Queen Beatrix, the Argentina-born royal was helping shine the spotlight on "strong women", the subject of this year's award for social programmes and activists.

"In light of tonight's theme," said the crown princess, "I believe we've found ourselves in the right place – in a palace where one of the strongest and most successful women that I've ever met works. My mother-in-law."

The queen clearly appreciated the gesture, welcoming the remark with a warm smile directed at the exhuberant expectant mum. Maxima and her husband Willem-Alexander will welcome their second child in about two months time.

Appeltjes van Oranje, Annual Oranje Fonds Award (2006-2014)

Today, the Queen, W-A and Maxima attended the 'Appeltjes van Oranje'. Maxima handed them out and made a speech

Princess Máxima presented "Appeltjes van Oranje" at Palace Noordeinde in The Hague. The "Appeltjes van Oranje" is an award for multicultural projects in the Netherlands.
The appeltjes has been granted to foundation Fakonahof from The Hague, Het Trefpunt of foundation space for the neighbourhood from Utrecht and foundation Het Chrysantenveld from Geleen.

Appeltjes van Oranje
Princess Maxima, Queen Beatrix and Willem Alexander has handed out the Appeltjes van Oranje at palace Noordeinde in The Hague.
The Appeltjes van Oranje is worth 15.000 euro and is handed out to 3 foundations who unite people in neighbourhoods.

Indeed it's great to see Beatrix, Willem Alexander and Máxima together for this particular event, I think highlighting multicultural efforts/projects is more important then ever in our time. Not loving Máxima's outif, but even so - she manages to look absolutely fabulous almost every time I see her. She's really beautiful, and she's got a great warm exuberance and smile.

It is nice to see the chemistry between the Queen & her son & daughter-in-law. It looks like they all truly enjoy each others company. It's not something I really notice in some of the other royal families.

I'm glad you mention the skirt, Marengo. I have my doubts about that one too. Especially since the top is so glamourous (I love it!) and the fabric of the skirt is so casual, so I just don't get the combination of the two.
But I like Maxima's hair. It's so much nicer when she wears it in a bun or something like that. The Queen always looks very good in blue, but I gave up hope that she is ever going to burn these shoulder pads...
