I hated the Tudors miniseries far too wishy washy with historical facts but I can see its appeal.

Same here. I threw in the towel when Jonathan Rhys-Myers short, dark haired' Henry VIII remained young and handsome to the end of his life.

Yes, while in real life Henry’s descent into moral turpitude as he grew older matched the bloated body, the oozy suppurating leg (which must have stank to high heaven) etc.

I do think that film and TV series makers seem to be fixated on Henry VIII and his wives, with particular focus on Ann Boleyn. Couldn’t they try some period between the Tudors and young Victoria to film? What about the Stuarts?

Jonathan Rhys-Myers as Henry VIII was really taking artistic license to new levels.

It was the combining of Mary and Margaret that got me, as if the viewer could cope with six wives but not more than one sister!

I would LOVE to see an historical miniseries on the life of the queen of Scots..a believable series based on history. Not the fantastical mess that was "The Tudors" or the recent film starring Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie as Mary and Elizabeth I.

While it's certainly all fiction and takes much artistic license, you may enjoy the Bridgerton series that aired on Netflix. It takes a fun look at the Regency era. Again, much artistic license was taken and it was certainly all fictional, I enjoyed it as a much needed break between the Tudors and Queen Victoria.

I actually had forgotten that and also with good reason
