A girl for Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi: Athena

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
The seven weeks likely stemmed from the pregnancy announcement. It was originally reported by many as 'early spring' when the actual announcement said early next year. If the baby was an 'early spring' baby the baby would have been due in March and 7 weeks would be a good guess.

Important is baby is healthy and home. And yes good they waited to announce until after baby home healthy, to stop any OTT speculation

I don't think Beatrice has ever said why she chose the name Sienna, but the speculation is that it was to honour Sarah (and possibly Susan Barrantes too), but that they wanted a name which, whilst beginning with an S, sounded a bit Italian and was up to date.

Yes, while there was apparently no official announcement explaining the name choice of either child, there were e.g. quotes from anonymous "friends of the couple" (which seems to be a common way for members of the British royal family to communicate to the media) suggesting that Sienna was chosen in honor of Sarah, Duchess of York (whose name also begins with an S) and the city of Siena in Italy (the country where Edo Mapelli Mozzi's's paternal grandparents were born). (However, Sienna is an English name, not an Italian one.)

The selection of the name Athena would seem to be in line with the alleged reasons for choosing the name Sienna: S for Sarah, thus A for Andrew/Alessandro (Edo's father). "Sienna" derived from the name of a city (Siena) in the country (Italy) of Edo's paternal grandparents, thus "Athena" the name of a city (Athina, Anglicized as Athens) in the country (Greece) of Beatrice's paternal grandfather.

(And if that was indeed the reasoning, it is nice that the couple chose to honor both Beatrice and Edo's foreign heritage, rather than concentrating exclusively on Edo's father's Italian ancestry as many article writers have.)
