Denmark’s Queen and her husband arrived into Aarhus Harbour on Friday aboard the royal yacht Dannebrog to begin their summer residence at nearby Marselisborg Palace. Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik were welcomed by music from the Home Guard’s Music Corps Aarhus, as well as officials from the Aarhus municipality. The couple will spend the next three weeks at Marselisborg, before moving to Graasten Palace for a family summer break there.

The Queen and Prince Consort of Denmark have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary privately abroad the Danish royal yacht Dannebrog today. A few photographs of the couple were released on Saturday, as they relaxed on the ship and presented the Dannebrog crew with commemorative medals minted to mark the anniversary. All members of the royal family and the royal court have also received the medal.

The Queen of Denmark was present on Sunday afternoon at the Haderslev Cathedral for a national service of worship marking the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Wearing a bubblegum pink suit, Queen Margrethe II joined Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and the President of the Folketinget, Pia Kjærsgaard, for the service. The Reformation took place on October 31, 1517 with Martin Luther’s Ninety-five Theses.
