Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven Diagnosed With Skin Cancer

The Dutch Royal Court has announced that Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven, the husband of Princess Margriet, has been diagnosed with melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer. He will undergo outpatient surgery at the Dutch Cancer Institute / Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital in Amsterdam in the coming days. As such, his engagements in the near future have been cancelled. Princess Beatrice Runs For Charity

Princess Beatrice took part in the 5k Lady Garden race which was held in Hyde Park. The 28 year old royal took part in the marathon to raise money for the Silent No More Gynaecological Cancer Fund. Princess Haya Opens and Tours Cancer Centre In Dubai

Princess Haya Bint Al Hussain officially opened The Comprehensive Cancer Centre (CCC) in Dubai today with senior health officials. Princess Haya who is Chairperson of Dubai Healthcare City Authority, toured the facility and was briefed about the different areas and medical treatments offered. Princess Haya also stopped by two patients, an adult and a child who are currently undergoing treatment.

A forest-green clad Duchess of Cornwall made her way to Hampshire today where she reopened a children’s cancer ward at a hospital in the region. The Piam Brown Children’s Cancer Ward at the Southhampton Children’s Hospital has undergone a £1.7 million refurbishment this year that took seven months. Camilla spent time chatting and playing with the children who are receiving treatment at the hospital.
