King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia's Visit to the United States: May 8-11, 2013

The ‘Delaware visit’ of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia celebrating the 375th jubilee of Swedish settler’s arrival in Delaware and (starting today and ending on May 11) is actually a much broader visit to the USA with stops in New York City, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and...

    Queen Silvia Jewellery 2: September 2005-December 2015

A beautiful new necklace for Queen Silvia, worn for the Stockholm County jubilee visit yesterday - it corresponds nicely with the fringed lapels of her Chanel jacket here, and I wonder what the drops are made of: http://s17.postimg.org/hjc55m1of/Screenshot_1.jpg

    Tiaras And Hair

I'm certain that it's her own hair - combed over a filler underneath to create the roll in the neck, and teased on top to create the volume behind the tiara. In general, people think rather too quickly of fake hair pieces (also when it comes to CP Mary, Queen Silvia etc.) when it's actually the...

    Tiaras And Hair

Not so perfect IMHO - it would have been easy to tease the hair a bit in the front to give it more volume in order to cover the rather ugly base of the tiara. The tiara itself was not properly centered either but shifted a bit to the right, so I would not label Maxima's inthronisation tiara...

Swedish State Visit to Croatia: April 16-18, 2013

Two pictures from the return reception at the Hotel Esplanade in Zagreb last night - dress code was as expected just business suit / cocktail dress, but Queen Silvia wears her modern V-shaped diamond necklace with ruby pendant: http://s11.postimg.org/5xng5yvfn/edoris.jpg...

...in Croatia. If it was Austria, she'd be wearing a tiara, but probably no ugly dress designed by Natan. ;)

    Queen Silvia Jewellery 2: September 2005-December 2015

That would really be fun! The V-shaped diamond necklace with cabochon emerald pendant is part of set #3, by the way - there are matching cabochon emerald stud earrings and a ring with a large cabochon emerald flanked by two diamonds. Would be great to see the "tie" Art-Deco-style emerald set #4...

    Queen Silvia Jewellery 2: September 2005-December 2015

For the Croatian state dinner, Queen Silvia was indeed wearing one of her several contemporary emerald sets (this one was first seen in 2002) but with different, new earrings, as mentioned by Josefine: http://s23.postimg.org/5f7um1w5n/Screenshot_1.jpg

Luxembourg State Visit to Austria: April 15-17, 2013

State banquets for Royals in Austria always have a white tie and tiara dress code. GD Maria Teresa's evening dress unfortunately features all the signature elements of a Natan aka Edouard Vermeulen design and must be one of the worst I've ever seen her in. Unflattering, without craftsmanship...

    Queen Silvia's Fashion and Style Part 3: January 2012 - April 2013

Very elegant appearance by Queen Silvia tonight at a dinner for her anti-drug charity ‘Mentor Foundation’ in Kuwait: A chiffon dress in vivid blue, embroidered in darker blue sequins, with a cape-like top which ends in a short train in the back, worn with one of her modern emerald sets and a...

    Queen Silvia Jewellery 2: September 2005-December 2015

:previous: Thank you, LadyFinn! Indeed this seems to be the only time that particular diamond piece was photographed, worn here as hair ornament, but it could also be a brooch. It doesn't resemble any other piece in the Queen's or the Bernadotte's collection - no idea where it might come from.

Press Reports about Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist, Part 2: April 2012 - June 2014

IMHO very incorrect, as Carl Philip's last name happens to be not Svensson but Bernadotte... and incorrect also because the Swedish people finance at least part of his and his girlfriend's life.

Press Reports about Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist, Part 2: April 2012 - June 2014

Very precise definitions, and for those who have only seen the 'Slitz' bikini and snake photos of Sofia Hellqvist, certainly an accurate assessment (though I can’t quite see the ‘glamour’ part in them). But her many photos taken when she was sixteen are definitely borderline soft porn, IMHO...

Diana, Princess of Wales Jewellery 2: Ending 2022

Of course that's possible but difficult to determine as we don't know these details of the settlement for sure. What we do know is that historic jewelry gifts like the emerald choker or The Queen Mother's sapphire were not 'given back' literally after the divorce, because Princess Diana...
