Names and Godparents for Harry and Meghan's second child

Lily sounds like the most likely of the rumored choices. I could see Lily Diana or Lily Spencer if they didn’t want Diana, or Lily Pip if the baby is born on his grandfather’s birthday. Philippa, with the nickname Pip, is also pretty cute on a girl. Pip on its own would be a little too casual...

    Christening of Archie Mountbatten-Windsor: July 6th, 2019

The baby looks like a blend of both parents to me. It looks like he will have brown eyes and might also end up a redhead. I wouldn’t be surprised if he will be a bit darker when he’s older too, like his mom. He’s cute regardless.

Gender, names, and godparent guessing for Harry and Meghan's first child

I think the name will be completely unexpected. Spencer would be a nice family connection.

Gender, names, and godparent guessing for Harry and Meghan's first child

I’m going to guess it’s a girl. The Daily Mail has an article about someone in a crowd shouting out a hope for a girl and Prince Harry replying that he hopes so too. Given that they’re on an official tour, followed by press, Prince Harry has to know that every word he says will be weighed and...

Gender, names, and godparent guessing for Harry and Meghan's first child

I don’t think there’s a snowball’s chance that she would include her father’s name or that the royal family would permit her to do so. Diana might be a good bet for a first name for a daughter. Prince Harry is probably brave enough to do it. Certainly, it will be a middle name.

Gender, names, and godparent guessing for Harry and Meghan's first child

I would guess they will pick first names they like, not necessarily traditional. Likely middle names for a girl: Diana, Elizabeth, Doria. For a boy: Charles, Philip. I doubt her father’s side of the family will be so honored. Margaret might be nice for a girl as a variant of Meghan, but I...

It's a Girl for Zara and Mike - Lena Elizabeth Tindall: June 18, 2018

Don’t they pronounce Mia like Maya? That one always struck me as odd and not phonetic. I suppose Lena is Layna as in the end of Magdalena, though that has different pronunciations too. Lena makes me think of Ole and Lena jokes. Different pronunciations make it a different association.

    Trooping the Colour 2003-2022

I’m curious about who some of the other people on the balcony were. The teenage girls with dark hair must be Lady Helen Windsor’s daughters Eloise and Estella. At a guess the boys in the sailor suits are Albert and Leopold Windsor. The boy in the glasses is possibly Xan Windsor, Lord Culloden...

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: Church Service, Carriage Procession - May 19, 2018

Maybe it’s time for them to update the tradition, hmm? The ceremony was a very nice blend of traditional English and black, contemporary American styles. It was all in good taste, all beautifully done, and the sermon had true meaning. It was very nearly perfectly done.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: Church Service, Carriage Procession - May 19, 2018

I thought the reaction of the royal relations to the bishop was extremely bad mannered. Surely they’ve had occasion to hear different styles of preaching in their globe trotting existences. He preached in a style that is very typical of a black American church, on love, a topic that was very...

    Gender & Names for Kate & William's 3rd Child

I’m not sure why James is considered likely when it’s the name of Prince Edward’s son and the child’s uncle. They aren’t likely to reuse the name. Likewise with Henry.

    Gender & Names for Kate & William's 3rd Child

I thought it would be a boy. My guess for a name is also Arthur. I’ll say Arthur Philip Michael. Though it might be interesting if they went with something different.

Its a Girl: HRH Princess Adrienne Josephine Alice of Sweden: March 9, 2018

Pretty name. To an American’s ears, it sounds like the king pronounced it nearly like Audrey-ENN. The first a has an ah sound and the last syllable is en. An American would pronounce the first part with a long a — AY-DREE-an. I do like the names of the other children in the family. Estelle is a...

    Gender & Names for Kate & William's 3rd Child

I really doubt they'd use Anne (or Margaret or Edward or Andrew or James, etc.) Why would they use the names of an uncle or aunt or cousin? I think it will be a name they like, one that is in style with upper class Brits, not necessarily a royal name or an out there name like Leopold. We may...

    Gender & Names for Kate & William's 3rd Child

My guess is actually that it will be something on trend but not necessarily previously used in the royal family. If they do go with a royal name: Girl: Alice Catherine Victoria Boy: Arthur Charles Philip

Prince George and Princess Charlotte, General News 2: May 2015 - May 2016

She's a British princess and these are official photos. I think the traditional clothes are pretty and completely appropriate. I would assume both children have more casual clothes, though their "play clothes" probably cost several hundred dollars apiece. She resembles several family members...

Charlotte looks like a female version of her brother in that photo and, judging by her eyebrows, she may turn blonde as well.

Sex, name, godparents and Duchy for Carl-Philip and Sofia's 1st child

If he follows the family pattern, the firstborn will be a girl, but a boy would be nice since he'd be so close in age to two male cousins. I would predict they'll choose a fairly mainstream first name and save the family names for the middle. Frederik or Edmund are my guesses for a prince if...

Sex, names, godparents and Duchy of Victoria's and Daniel's second child

Boy. The first name will likely be something they just like and that isn't traditional in the royal family. This child isn't the direct heir, so they can be more relaxed. I would guess something like Alexander or William or Oliver as the first name, with two or three traditional middles. Carl is...

Christening of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge: July 5, 2015

People can look like different family members at different stages of life, too, and these kids will probably be no exception. We've all seen a lot of pictures of them and their family members because of who they are. That's part of the fun of looking at family pictures like this one. Comparing...

Christening of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge: July 5, 2015

Both children look like they take after their mother's side of the family. Little George has his maternal grandfather's face shape and it looks like many of his facial features also resemble Michael Middleton. The eyes come from that side of the family too, though the hair may be from his...

The Birth of HRH Princess Charlotte of Cambridge: May 2, 2015

Age wise, they're of the same generation. As contemporaries, they're bound to know each other on some level and move in the same circles. Technically, Lady Charlotte and Princess Charlotte are first cousins once removed, not second cousins.

The Birth of HRH Princess Charlotte of Cambridge: May 2, 2015

I just realized that William has a cousin called Lady Charlotte Diana Spencer (daughter of Diana's younger brother), born in 2012. The names are pretty close for two girls who are in the same generation and will probably move in the same circles. But maybe William isn't that close to his uncle.
