I assume that the royals decide many weeks in advance what to wear, and everybody thought it would be warm and spring in Stockholm by now. It isn't. Nice nod with the finnish designer, but I think she should have opted for something warmer and wear this on another occasion.

The discussion in Svensk Damtidning is more noticing the change in hairstyles, not questioning them. Kids have a will on their own, and I don't think that anyone in Sweden is upset about a childs choice of hairstyle. Why should they be?

They don't need to do anything that they don't want to. My point is just that a photo and a message could help with some of the craziest rumors out there. I think it would be worth it. That doesn't mean that they have to do it. I just think it would be a better strategy.

Totally agree. Having said that: Just a simple photo of her smiling/waving and "sending her thanks for all the well wishes, we well see you again soon" would be a big help against at least some of the horrible rumors flying around.

I think the press conference was Wednesday, but it's still great to hear that they are in touch and that the king is in good spirits. He is very well looked after, I'm sure. They are now on the way to Oslo. ETA just before 11 pm. I'm sure they were well taken care of during the stop in Sharjah...

The plane did a refueling stop in Sharjah on the way to Langkawi. I assume they will do the same thing on the way back home. So it won't be a direct flight. And yes, I know this because I'm a Flightradar24-geek :)

Scandinavian media reports that an SAS-plane that's being used for medical transports has landed in Langkawi to bring the king back to Norway. (They didn't say why, but it's not that difficult to figure out). Hopefully he will be back home soon...

The Swedish RF is in a different situation than the Norwegian RF. The King is in reasonably good health (but had heart surgery last year). The crown princess family would be able to take over any day, but I think that Victoria is happy with not being queen as long as her children are so young...

I think that the trip was also a chance for Mary to let her family know the news in person of the upcoming abdication.

I watched some of the speech. She spoke about how her back surgery (and recovery) gave her time to think. Perhaps it's a combination of health issues and other things.
