Wales Residences: Kensington Palace, Adelaide Cottage & Anmer Hall

Surely it's time the Wales family took on a fourth residence? Charles (as PoW) and the Queen Mother had considerably more properties than the William and Kate currently do. A new home in Scotland or Wales would probably be appreciated by people in those nations.

Royal Wealth and Finances 2: Sep 2022 -

Is it feasible that the BRF could in the future become entirely self-funding, with the entry fees from visiting the royal palaces being used to cover the entire upkeep of the buildings, as well as staff and all other costs of the monarchy?

    British Royal Christmas 2: Sep 2022 -

Are we likely to ever see any of the York family attending Christmas with the royal family in future, or will the princesses opt to spend the day with their in laws instead?

    Royal Lodge, Windsor

Not sure of this is a silly question, but if Andrew moved into Frogmore Cottage, could he keep the lease on RL and sublet the place?

British State Visits & Tours: General Discussion, Suggestions & Musings

Im sure that Charles will definitely visit Canada in 2025. I would have said New Zealand too but it seems a bit far unless he's visiting another country nearby.

Princess Alexandra of Kent 2: Sep 2022 -

It seems increasingly unlikely that she will return to conducting any significant number of engagements. It would make sense for her to step down from some of her patronages and hand them over to other, active, royals, sooner rather than later.

Princess Alexandra of Kent 2: Sep 2022 -

Does anyone know how many patronages Princess Alexandra currently has?

Princess Alexandra of Kent 2: Sep 2022 -

I have never seen the point of someone being patron of several hundred charities. It is too many charities to actually be involved with. A smaller number would make more sense in my opinion. Certainly no more that 100. Even that is a huge number of organisations.

Princess Alexandra of Kent 2: Sep 2022 -

Ideally, I would like to see Charles ask Alexandra, the Duke of Kent and the Gloucesters to retire. Their patronages could be redistributed between the core royal family.

Princess Alexandra of Kent 2: Sep 2022 -

Her stopping engagements due to age/ill health, but unless there is a retirement announcement, will the charities she is patron of mind her not having any involvement?

If/when she does officially retire, will there be an announcement?

    British Royal Family Engagements: 2022 - 2025

Surely Princess Alexandra has now retired/should now be considered to be retired? She is no more active than the Duchess of Kent in recent years, which is understandable due to age. I believe she is now in a wheelchair?

General Discussion about Royal Residences 2: Sep 2022 -

If William was to unexpected become King in the next few years, while his children are still young, would he and Kate be likely to vacate all 3 of their current residences and move to more regal homes?

    Residences of the Queen Mother

What was the public's opinion of the Queen Mother having so many residences? Did people mind this or was it seen as overly ostentatious at all? I ask because not everyone was happy about William and Kate acquiring just a third home.

    British Royal Family Engagements: 2022 - 2025

Do we have enough working royals? Perhaps Prince and Princess Michael should be given official roles? Alternatively Beatrice and/or Eugenie could finally be utilised on a part time basis.

Duties and Roles of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie 2: Discussion Sep 2022 -

There is no need for either sister to become a full time working royal but I see no reason why they couldn't take on a few more patronages and do a handful of engagements a year. There is a shortage of younger royals

General Discussion about Royal Residences 2: Sep 2022 -

There would be an interesting reallocation of residences in the future, if Camilla was to outlive Charles Camilla obviously has her own home, Ray Mil House, but woykd the new King William be likely to let his stepmum keep hold of Clarence House and Birkhall, if she so wished?

    British Royal Family Engagements: 2022 - 2025

I understand that William has three young children and a wife who has been ill, but he seriously needs to increase his contribution to the royal workload this year, particularly given the King's recent diagnosis.

    Royal Lodge, Windsor

It would make a lot of sense for Andrew to take the opportunity to downsize, particularly if he could cone to a financial agreement with Charles. Andrews financial, working and social lives have all evaporated so there is no need for such a large residence any more.

Wales Residences: Kensington Palace, Adelaide Cottage & Anmer Hall

Charles spent a significant amount of time at Birkhall over the last 20 years. Would the new Wales family have as much use for a holiday home on the Balmoral estate?

Royal Wealth and Finances 2: Sep 2022 -

If William was to pass away while he is was Duke of Cornwall, what would happen to the proceeds from the Duchy of Cornwall? Would Catherine still be able to receive an allowance from it to fund the royal duties and lifestyle of herself and her children?
