At this point I'm thinking it would be impossible for William to find anyone to marry who didn't attract negative press without keeping her concealed in the Fortress of Solitude. The press seems to be getting more and more vicious about all of its victims as time goes by.

The funny thing is that the folks at Spiked rail against the "surveillance society" too. I guess it's ok if it's the press doing the surveilling, but not the government.

I think he needs to include a few more naysayers and a few fewer syncophants in his entourage. And by naysayers I don't mean like press people who hate the monarchy bar none, just people who aren't afraid to tell him what he doesn't want to hear, because judging from his actions over the past...

I suppose we shouldn't be surprised. Everything and everyone is judged at the most shallow level these days. (I'm sounding like a bit of an old grump myself! I think it's time to leave the press to their miserable business and start on my homework. :lol:)

It was Cheltenham, not Ascot. I don't think glitz is what they're going for. (And even at Ascot I think lamb dressed as mutton is preferable to the decidedly skanky turn things have taken there too.)
