Comparisons between Diana and Caroline of Brunswick and others

Personally, I enjoy spirited discussion much more than one way soliloques, as long as opinions can be backed up by reasoning. There is nothing more boring in life than total agreement in everything. (Unless you are living under a totalitarian regime & your life depend on it.):flowers: I really...

    Portraits of the British Royals

Sophie came across looking....well, stony, in the Richard Stone portrait. If the slight crease around the mouth was ment to immitate Mona Lisa, the painter didn't succeed. Instead, it was as if her mood was of a simmering anger at the time of the portrait sittings. The rest of the colour...

The Duchess of Cornwall Current Events 12: July 2008-December 2009

IMO, Joanna Lumley is old enough, and has been in public long enough, to know throwing out a teaser about support from a senior royal would inevitably invite questions to the royal's identity. If there really was a private letter of support, she should treat it as private from the beginning...

    Princess Marie's Fashion & Style Part 2: September 2008 - August 2009

Lovely outfit. It would be great for any leisure outting.

    Queen Sonja's Fashion and Style Part 1: April 2004 - March 2012

There is a huge difference when the dresses on the mannequins, and when they were on Sonja. The first yellow dress was almost drab, but it looked fantastic on HM. The white and blue dresses were not that impressive in person, but look great on the mannequins.

    Princess Letizia's Daytime Fashion Part 7: April 2009 - June 2009

At first glance, it was a bit OMG! Not sure what to make of a bright orange, ruffled shirt combo with a bright, multi-colored, print scarf. I have to admit, it sort of grows on me after awhile. I think the grey pants and shoes helped to balance the colours on top. I can't see the shoes clearly...

    Crown Princess Victoria's Daytime Fashion Part 1: April 2005 - June 2009

And not to mention uncomfortable to walk in the pebbly/stoney ground. However, I do like the brown jacket.

    Crown Princess Mathilde's Daytime Fashion Part 2: May 2009 - December 2009

Great look, simple and unfussy. It's probably the fashion now with short jackets, however, I do think ladies need to be aware of their own bodies and choose the appropriate length that flatters them the most.

Royal Visits to Ireland and Northern Ireland

:ermm: The coat design isn't assymetric, the buttons are straight down the center. There are however appliques on the left side of the coat.:flowers:

Diana's Legacy: What is left or what will be left?

Skydragon, I am pretty sure you weren't the original target. That was me. Mercuryin called me out in that first post. Mercuryin, a piece of advise from experience: it might be helpful to convey your point across if your post is more concise. It was hard to follow what it was you are not...

Diana's Legacy: What is left or what will be left?

This says more about you and how you handle disagreements than about other posters. Again, this is about you. There is no rule on this forum that commands all posts must be impartial and include both good and negative comments. Since you have stated no one came out to say Diana is...

Princess Eugenie of York Current Events 5: October 2008-April 2010

:previous: The tabloids would much appreciate brave Eugenie marches on. And her Wales cousins may well send up a silent thanks for the same, as they get to stay off the gossip pages.:whistling:

Princess Eugenie of York Current Events 5: October 2008-April 2010

Since she is in SE Asia, there is Laos between the three countries she's been in. Further south, there is Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines. If she was in a really adventurous mood, there is Burma west of Thailand. That country can be tricky since they are not exactly...

The Duchess of Cornwall Current Events 12: July 2008-December 2009

That's a good portrait. Have a bit of rough strokes and IMO, captured her essence rather than an exact physical copy. I'm not a fan of her helmet hair, but actually liked how it looks on canvas.

Diana's Legacy: What is left or what will be left?

First of all the mind field was already cleared when she visited. There were marked sign posts for where it was safe for her to walk. Even if you discount the idea that Red Cross would rather not have Diana become a casaulty in front of the press, there were mind clearing personnels on the...

Duties and Roles of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie 1: Discussion Until 2022

Lady Chatto found art and Zara has riding as their passions. Neither York lady seem to have found what they are passionate about. Perhaps in time they will. As with Zara, any commercial ventures they become involved in down the line, they will be knocked on for using royal titles and/or...

Diana's Legacy: What is left or what will be left?

Since the thread is about Diana's legacy, not about the worthiness of charities she supported, her actions do call into question her true intentions behind her involvement. Take landmine issue, its political controversy cannot be separated from the human tolls. For her to join the campaign and...

William and Kate: engagement and relationship rumours and musings 2009

OG, I'm so not going there about work.:flowers: & your thoughts on William visiting her is just as reasonable as the other way around. Must say, more power to them both for turning off the media circus, almost completely.

William and Kate: engagement and relationship rumours and musings 2009

Does make you wonder, doesn't it, that if Kate had been living at the cottage, there would have been pictures of her coming and going. I believe all the papers had photos of the building and it wasn't that remote. At the minimum, there would have been one shot of her car on the road leading to...

Diana's Legacy: What is left or what will be left?

Like most things in life, I don't think it's a black or white issue. She could very well had the best intention early on. And as she gained experience in public life, she was smart enough to recognize the opportunities for her to gain public affection as her personal life disintegrated. I just...

Prince Harry Current Events 23: July 2008-May 2009

I had debate where to post the link myself. It wasn't news anyway. Daily Mail had mention the living arrangement months ago. Think the Daily Star writing just recycled to fill their pages.
