Queen Máxima in Paris to Visit Two Exhibitions

Her Majesty Queen Máxima was in Paris from Tuesday November 28 to Wednesday 29 to pay a visit to two differents exhibitions.
On Tuesday evening the Queen officially opened the exhibition: “Iris van Herpen. Sculpting the Senses” at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.
The exhibition, dedicated the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen, “pays tribute to one of the most popular fashion designers visionaries of hergeneration. Pioneer in the use of new technologies in her discipline, Iris van Herpen transgresses conventional norms of clothing, equally open to traditional and prospective know-how”.
The French First Lady, Brigitte Macron, and the Dutch designer, Iris van Herpen, were among the present.
Following the official opening the Queen met with the curators and toured the exhibition which shows “a selection of more than 100 pieces haute couture created by Iris van Herpen” and “pieces from natural sciences like corals or fossils creating a unique resonance with historical pieces”.
The exhibition will run from November 29, 2023 to April 28 2024.
For this occasion Queen Maxima wore a “a skin-colored base and an overlay of skin-colored tulle” gown by Iris van Herpen.
On Wednesday the Queen paid a visit to the center for contemporary photography, Maison Européenne de la Photographie (La MEP) where, is held, since October 18, the exhibition: “Viviane Sassen – Phosphor: Art & Fashion”, dedicated to the Dutch photographer, Viviane Sassen.
In the exhibition is shown a large retrospective “more than 200 photographs, collages, videos, art and mixed-media pieces”.
The Queen toured the exhibition, along with the Dutch photographer, and met with some French-Dutch photographers.
The exhibition will run until February 11, 2024.
