Norwegian Royals Celebrate National Day
Today, Wednesday May 17, the Royal Family celebrated Norway’s National Day.
The celebrations started in the morning when, Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Prince Sverre Magnus attended the children’s parade outside their private Skaugum estate. One of their dogs, Molly Fiskebolle, was present as well.
This year Princess Ingrid Alexandra was absent because she is currently celebrating the end of secondary school with her classmates.
Later the Crown Prince Couple and Prince Sverre Magnus joined King Harald, Queen Sonja on the balcony of the Royal Palace in Oslo to watch the children’s parade.
This year 110 schools participated in the parade.
Norway National Day is celebrated to mark the signing of the Constitution of Norway happened on this day in 1814.
