Last Day in Egypt for Queen Mathilde and Princess Elisabeth

Queen Mathilde and Princess Elisabeth started the last day of their working visit to Egypt today, Thursday March 16, by visiting an archeological site in the Deir El Bersha village.
In the archeological site the Queen and the Princess descended seven meters to visit the crypt of governor Nehri II where are presents “three burial shafts: two vertical and one sloping shaft.”. The excavations of this crypt were carried out by a Belgian team of students and researchers from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. The Queen and the Princess met with Professor Dr Harco Willems, Dr Marleen De Meyer and some students that are part of the Belgian team.
Through the excavations the Belgian team was able to “able to reconstruct the family tree of the governors for about eight generations”.
