Official Visit to the Dutch Caribbean: Aruba – Last Day

Today, Tuesday January 31, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima and the Princess of Orange started the second and last day in Aruba by visiting the AriKok National Park. In the park, that covers almost 20% of the island, the Royal Couple and the Princess took an hike and met with junior rangers of the park to talk about its maintenance and management and to be informed about the center of cultivation.
Then the King, the Queen and the Princess paid a visit to the company Royal Aruba Aloe. This company, founded in 1890, “is one of the few Aloe companies in the world, that grows, harvests, and processes its own Aloe on-site”. During the visit they toured the factory and met with its director to know more about the production methods.
In the afternoon King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima and the Princess of Orange visited the University of Aruba where, in the Faculty of Law, they attended a lecture focused on Caribbean law.
Then the King and the Princess paid a visit to a football academy of the Aruban Football Association (AVB) located in the Compleho Deportivo Frans Figaroa that, with the help of the Royal Dutch Football Association, provides football training for talented young people.
In the meantime Queen Maxima visited the Koolman Family Farma, a vegetable grower who works with the help of Qredits, an organization that “has adopted a new sustainable approach to microfinance: a blend of traditional personal banking with a highly sophisticated IT support system”.
The second and last day in Aruba ended at the Bon Bini Festival in Fort Zoutman, Oranjestad.
The official visit to the Dutch Caribbean will continue tomorrow in Curaçao.
