Kings and Princes celebrate San Fernando with Military Orders

The Kings and the Princes of Asturias received today in the Palace of theZarzuela the representatives of the Royal Military Orders of San Fernando and San Hermenegildo, on the occasion of San Fernando's festivity.

The members of the Royal Relative greeted the attendees and, after the family photo, acceded to the chapel to be present at a Mass informed by the Military Archbishop, Francisco Perez Gonzalez, later, to converse with them in the course of an appetizer.

The Mass took place in the small hermitage that exists in the garden of the residence of the Kings and where habitually the acts are celebrated religiously of the Royal Family.

San Fernando's Order was represented by the only Distinguished Gentleman who lives, the general Adolfo Esteban Ascensión lieutenant.
Rewarded of San Fernando it is the maximum military distinction that exists in Spain, and only it is granted by very special merits contracted in actions of war.

For San Hermenegildo's Order there represented the Great Foreign Minister of the Royaland Military Orders, Jose Rodrigo, and the members of his Chapter.

They informed forthwith four Military individual Medals, the general lieutenant of Earth Jesus Gonzalez of the Iron, the commander Juan Calvo Izquierdo, the captain Antonio Sanchez del Corral and the lieutenant Angel Salamanca.

San Fernando's Order, founded 1814 by Fernando VII, there join those military men, of any graduation, who credit witness in the service and irreproachable conduct after expiring twenty years of service.

The Prince of Asturias has the Great Cross of this Order, whereas the King shows the cargo of Sovereignly of the institution.

There represented also the Chief of the General staff of the Defense, general Félix Sanz; the Chief of the General staff of Earth, general Antonio García Gonzalez; the chief of the General staff of the Navy, admiral Sebastián Zaragoza; the chief of the General staff of the Air, general Francisco Javier García de la Vega, and the director of the Police, Joan Mesquida.
In the act, small but solemn, they took part also the Chief of the House of the King, Alfredo Aza; the secretary general, Ricardo Díez Hochleitner, and the Chief of the Fourth Military, Antonio Gonzalez-Aller.

Lula, as you I noticed that the Queen was not in dark colours for the yesterday's act. Plus the fact that she had the same day an other act ( Car's exhibition ) we can think because, she is the best connoissor of the real protocol, that she did it volontary to make whispering the journalists specialized in Princess of Asturias's offense in a great sens of soul and heart's Nobilty.

My thesis is quiet romantic, but so what......

I just love that beautiful belt... and the shoes... but I`m glad that Letizia looks rested.. hoy lovely couple

Little_star 05-31-2006 10:16 AM

Thanks for the pictures, Letizia looks fantastic, white is yet another colour that really suits her. Love the suit and the shoes especially.
Felipe in uniform again! Are the Spanish Royal Family deliberately trying to cause all of us women to have heart attacks!

PS- I love your avatar Anna_R, it's absolutely gorgeous!

grevinnan 05-31-2006 10:31 AM

I love the shoes Letizia is wearing. Is there a secret to wearing sling-back shoes? The strap around the heel never seems to slip down on her shoes. They always slip when I wear such shoes.

ap3 05-31-2006 10:31 AM

I love the pictures where they are holding hands: Letizia has such a big smile on her face while she is holding hands with her husband!

I wish she hadn't straightened her hair though. I think she looks much better with a little bounce and volume to her hair. Nice suit and belt.

Wonderful pictures everyone! Thanks for posting. The pictures of Felipe and Letizia holding hands are indeed very sweet!

Little_Star, thanks for the compliments, I absolutely loved those pictures, it was kind of an obvious choice...:)

WindsorIII 05-31-2006 11:05 AM

Thanks for posting the photos.

It looks as if Letizia and Philipe are still just as in love as they were when they were dating. Its great to see that all the hoopla that goes on around them hasn't affected their feelings for each other.

I've said it before, I've always liked her style in clothing. Very classic but also very comfortable.

My favorite combination.

well yes, she's 5'11 (without heels, that's why she looked almost as tall as KJC in that pic), her father is 6'1 and her husband is 6'5 so they are a very tall family!;)

The Vatican confirms the encounter of the Pope with The Kings and Zapatero during his trip to Valencia in July

8th of July and after lunch and a brief time of rest, to 17:15 hours Pope will be transferred until the Palace of the Valencian Generalitat, autonomic seat of the government, where he will be with the Kings of Spain, Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía, and will also receive, according to previous forecasts, to all the members of the Royal Family.

https://actualidad.terra.es/provincia...cia_928605.htm

lula 06-16-2006 04:22 PM

Still it is not confirmed by the web of the Royal House, but it seems that the next saturday the 24th, day of San Juan there will be a small receipt on the occasion of the Onomástica of the King. This one is a part of the agenda of the Prime minister.

https://actualidad.terra.es/nacional/..._ue_935090.htm
(...)
The prime minister will be present on Saturday morning at the meeting of the Federal Committee of the PSOE and in the evening he will come to the receipt that the King will offer in the Palace of the Zarzuela on the occasion of his "onomástica".

The power of the World Cup...don't know if it's true, but I read that they are not having the traditional Gala dinner at the Royal Palace because Argentina is scheduled to play wednesday at 21:00 hours!

I believe that it is not true, it is a mistake of the one who has written it, because I also have read it.

The dinners of gala are in the Visits of State not in the official visits; in the official visits depending on the agenda there can be a lunch or a dinner in the Royal Palace.
This is an official visit, and not a visit of State, for what there is neither military official reception nor farewell, nor food neither in the Zarzuela, nor dinner of gala in the Royal Palace.

adelaide 06-17-2006 05:00 PM

Thanks Lula for the precisions about the lunch or dinner for official visit. I'm just doing a little on the old agenda of the Casa Real of Spain, and I can see that for this nkind of visit there are not gala diner. The last states visit was these of CEI with president Putin and his wife.

infanteleonor 06-18-2006 04:13 AM

can be certain
DOMINGO HENARES/
Perhaps the reality is very other, different from a simple coincidence of the manifestation of joy of our Kings and their relatives by the miraculous triumph, in this occasion, of our selection of soccer in their first serious encounter of World-wide the 2006. That is to say, it will be truth that, from Don Juan Carlos to Doña Leonor, all the Palace of the Zarzuela is watching how becomes stabilized or changes the marker of goals, as if strictly speaking it was to them part of his lives in the result? The case is that all the movements of the Real House are measured, with a studied affluent agenda, with suits adapted for each occasion, the smile even that takes more according to the theater box, and until with the glance of greater preoccupation than it is precise. And thus, of advance party, there that went Don Felipe and Doña Letizia to the stage of Leipzig, the noblest fans within the crowd, to see how the Ukraine fell, were enough, and to applaud watching the one at the other future of Spain. They are the heraldos. Day 14 past, agreed all the clocks (to say that they were stopped is one cursilería) of the thousands of Spaniards who mentioned themselves ahead of the television sets, the Spaniards of good faith and all the hope, of that made the joy possible del triumph because they believed in the victory. And, those that very were not convinced beforehand from the four to zero, had to look for an alibi quickly. Because the Spaniards looked for by the corners of the television sets certain personages who usually give good luck to the sportsmen who represent Spain. Thus, Doña Sofía saw the first encounter of the team of Aragonese Luis from Bangkok, and its alibi is called, like other times, Doña Letizia. His Majesty the King, Don Juan Carlos, had to be contented with seeing the second time from the Zarzuela, by commitments contracted for the morning in Aerial Base of Culvert. Its alibi, since it always does, was Prince Don Felipe. So that, between goal and goal, crossing itself bets, were possible to guess the future of a mother country. It can be that the Princes of Spain, of as much watching how they vitorean and until the masses rugen, know the future that hopes to us. Because they at some future date do not applaud the event that happens to them constantly, but better. Hopefully it is certain.

During his toast, Don Juan Carlos emphasized that thanks to the leadership of president Kirchner and 'to the effort shared of all the Argentines', it can be said today 'with admiration and pride, that Argentina' has managed to surpass, in just very a few years, the serious crisis 'lived at the beginning of the decade'. The Spaniards – stressed the monarch – have always been, and will always be, with Argentina, at the good and at the most difficult moments, cheering up its own successes and sharing its problems and hopes. Nothing of what happens in Argentina is unrelated to us.

Néstor Kirchner, on the other hand, started his toast, emphasizing the 'quality and kindness' of the Spanish feelings towards his country, and congratulated the Princes of Asturias for the birth of their daughter, Infanta Leonor, last October.

I hope President Gloria will bring her daughter Luli to the luncheon. She went to Georgetown with Felipe. I know the presidential family is in Spain right now because they're mixing business and vacation.

no, just a luncheon. i don't think it's a state visit anyway so it's not going to require a state dinner.

The king is very serious...I hope is not because he is near Letizia...I hear it some days ago in a tv program and I was very sad.

The King normally turns out to be serious in the photos, cannot pose for the cameras. Besides being how the politics is in Spain ... much has of what to worry, I do not believe that yesterday it was a calm day precisely.

CRIS 06-30-2006 10:35 AM

The king always this thus when he puts before the cameras. Because he would have to be by Letizia? then in the other act in which he is next to her and he jokes with her; he is being false?

In which tv program you have listened to this?

adelaide 06-30-2006 11:08 AM

It's not very serious to pretend that the King could be sad because he would be beside the Princess, it's a too superficial argument for a man so serious and so involve on his high responsabilities.

The King is quiet always serious on all "family shots", it's normal because it's official pic for an official act and not a private pic for internal use.

If the King looks so serious, may be we can ask if the Spain isn't encountering serious political problems ? In my opinion, it's a better reason for the face of the King.

HM the King congratulated today the president of Philippines, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, for the abolition of the capital punishment in her country, last June 24th. During the toasts, Don Juan Carlos praised the “the sense of State” of Macapagal.

The King assured that this decision, adopted by the Congress and the Senate of Philippines, “constitutes a transcendental fact, without precedents in Asia”, as Philippines “joins thus the group of Nations that, like Spain, is making an effort to eradicate such a cruel and unfair pain that attempts against the human rights”.

In addition to this, Don Juan Carlos thanked the president for having decreed three days of official mourning in Philippines, when the terrorist attacks of March 11th 2004 took place in Madrid.

Both the King and Macapagal agreed on the necessity to deepen the relations between these countries, and the Monarch pleaded the Spanish language to be impelled in the Philippines.

During his speech, Don Juan Carlos stood out the fact that this first official visit of the President to Spain takes place on June 30th, when the Day of the Friendship between Philippines and Spain is celebrated.

The Queen must really like this blue outfit -- she's worn it three times now in the past two weeks or so: in Norway, Thailand and again back in Spain.

Maybe she wants to make a point or give a message to the press that they do recycle their clothes.

She does not have to give any message, has done it for 30 years, is not any innovation. And if she likes the suit more she repeats it. Last year was a green suit.;)
