The King will not be in the Press

And speaking of norms, norm it was that the King always presided over the Bullfight of the Press. This year is going to be that no. Next day 25 (this is primicia) the forecasts of the royal calendar have been altered and the emissary will be Infant Elena, the most bullfighting, next to her father, of the House. Neither to Prince de Asturias nor to the acatalanada Cristina they fascinate the bulls. By no means.

The more and more that I see her, the more I like her. She has an excellent sense of style and her use of color is amazing. She and Maxima use color beautifully. The older she gets the better she gets.

The Infanta Elena never comes to this type of acts and parties. It is supposed that this type of acts form a part of Jaime de Marichalar's work as counselor of the company. The Infanta Elena cannot publicize the parties of the company that he pays to her husband. In addition, no member of the Royal Family is in the habit of coming to this type of parties.

Last year already had to suspend some act because she had a herpes in the face.
It can be any small problem of health, from a sprain up to a gastric problem, something that prevents her from coming to the acts. I imagine that we will find out in the next days. This week does not have acts, but next Saturday is the Onomástica of the King seems that there will be a small receipt (the web of Royal House has not confirmed it, but the act appears in the agenda of the prime minister).

What I mean is that she looks like kind of sad lately, more distant and unexpresive. I dont know her, so i really cant say, she could be a shy person and seems to be distant but does not mean something is wrong. But Ive seen her in better moods in other times. It can be that she is not feeling well, as ive read she cancelled an event because she has some health problem. In any case I hope she is doing fine. By the pictures of the onomastico of the king, I can imagine that she and Letizia have a good relationship and seemed that Letizia was very attentive to her.

Greetings, applause and flatteries
Hundreds of calagurritanos jammed the streets to receive Dukes de Lugo

“A precious hair”
And indeed, after their words Dukes de Lugo appeared before the outcry of all the citizens. To his step, the public offered extensive applause them that the real pair was thankful with multiple greetings. And not only to the neighbors located on foot of street, but also to which windows and balconies were shown in. Of Doña Elena it called the attention his height, the dress chosen for the ceremony and, mainly, its melena. “It has a precious hair and, in addition, it has surprised to me because it has not been combed with the braid to which it has to us customary”, it said Aurora. But mainly there was a point in which everybody agreed: “She is more handsome than in tele”. Don Jaime de Marichalar also seeded flatteries. “He is a horseman, it seems educated very and very elegant”, it assured Incarnates. And thus, between all those commentaries, the Dukes entered the Ideal. Many occurred by satisfied, but most unconditional they decided to hope to that the function finalized to return to salute to the real pair.

I can't tell how much I would like that people stop saying those things about Don Jaime. I know it is not possible but I can't help wish for it.

Yes he was smilling, despite his difficulty in doing so (God help us all from having a stroke in a such early stage of our lives) and thanks to fanletizia we can see him doing so in the below pictures

I've seen a smilling, tender and next-to-people's Don Jaime in the pictures of this event, he didn't avoy the personal contact and he tried, at least I see it that way, to smile back when saluting them.

Don Jaime has never been the athletic type man, but I see no reason why we have to label him with less-pleasant names.

mtbcm :)

Saturday, when it appeared in the castle of Berg, in Luxembourg, in order to be present in the celebration by the silver wedding of the Great Dukes of Luxembourg, infant Elena left to more of an assistant with the open mouth.
The greater daughter of the kings of Spain, of 43 years, it arrived, of the hand of its husband, Jaime de Marichalar, Duke of Lugo, shining a red long dress with gold embroiderings and with which the clock and the fan matched. Lucia like a youngster.
The Spanish press, always letter to the details of the real family, it emphasized the suit of Elena immediately, to that it defined with single word: it called it spectacular.

I think the wedding ring is the last one (and the smaller one  ) in his little finger.

Love your comment, a great example of the power of understatement. I agree about Jaime and the fashion show thing. What's up with that?

I think that gentlemen of the royal or aristocratic classes usually wear a ring on the pinkie finger symbolizing the crest or symbol of their family. I would like to know from the posters who know more about the protocols of the nobilty or aristocracy if this information is correct. I could have sworn that I've seen pictures of Prince Pavlos of Greece also wearing a ring showing his family crest.

Other than that, I hardly doubt he is missing his wedding band because of trouble in the marriage. He seems to be very much in love with the Infanta Elena.

Yes, he has a job. Actually, attending fashion shows is part of his job, since he works for Louis Vuitton.

I can't speak for Prince Pavlos of Greece, but the men of the British Royal Family also tend to wear their wedding rings not on the "normal" finger but rather on the pinky with the ring of their family crest. The Prince Charles, Prince Andrew (when he was married) as well as Prince Edward have done this.

In response to the comments regarding Elena's dress in Luxembourg...I thought she looked fabulous! While most will say she doesn't have the "pretty" features of her sister or sister in law..I have always thought she was a beautiful woman. Happy with life!

from diez minutos

Infanta Elena, of reductions

For days, the greater daughter of the Kings of Spain went of reductions.
Although Elena bought in the centric district in which lives, one moved of store in store in a Mini red convertible that she herself drived.
Among other establishments, the Infant was in Zara, a very well-known store in which the Duchess of Lugo acquired a very simple article and in that one was proving several models.

Vacations in family

After remaining half an hour, approximately, in this establishment, the Infant took her Mini ones, that it had parked in the door of the store, and, drawing for the intense Madrilenian traffic, it returned to its house.
Perhaps Doña Elena is preparing the clothes for her vacations in Palma de Mallorca, that they will begin shortly.
As it comes being habitual, the Dukes of Lugo and their children, Felipe Juan Froilán and Victoria Federica, they will spend its summer vacations next to the rest of the members of the Royal Family in the Balearic island.

Where exactly is the Balearic Island? What other royal members will be there? For example, is it unusual to have both Prince Felipe and King Juan Carlos are vacation? Or does one have to stay behind to represent Spain? By the way, I love the Cooper Mini. Here in the USA, most people drive SUV's and even though I wanted a Cooper Mini, my husband insists on getting me a Volvo Wagon. Then we have the nerve to complain about gas prices.

Me too. My first car was a Mini and in that time it wasn't so posh to have one but I've always loved that car. Now they improved it and anyone looks really great and posh with one. Don't abdicate your dream:D - you're going to look great on it ;).

The vacations in Lanzarote will last until Sunday, according to ABC. Infanta Elena and her family are taking advantage of Iñaki Urdangarín's professional commitments in the island (where he will give a conference about sports and social integration) to share some days of rest with the Barcelonan branch of the family.

I love the European ideal of bringing your whole family on vacations. It's nice to see the Infantas vacationing with their cousins and children. By the way, Carolina Herrara looks great in the above picture.

Juan Gómez-Acebo de Borbón is the Viscount of the Tower (Vizconde de la Torre) so I don't think this is the same person, everybody would have known if he passed away...

Thank you, crisiñaki, for your reply.

I know that if such tragedy (knoc, knoc, knoc) happened we'd know but for a moment I was so chocked that only my heart was working :o...

I appreciated your detail in replying. Thank you, once again.

you're welcome mtbcm, for a moment I thought the same as you and were:eek: but then I remembered his true title and was able to breathe normally again:D
if that would have happened, the entire SRF (and probably the GRF as well since they are one big happy bunch) would have been at the funeral; thank God it didn't happen!:o

The Infanta Elena accepts the presidency of honor of the SIMed and of the International Lounge of the Horse.

Really, I don´t know if it is an act very adapted for the Infanta. It is nice because it is 50 Anniversary of a bullfight with many tradition. The Infanta will be delighted because she likes the bulls. But everything what makes a detour to this act is a bit polemic, the Rivera Ordoñez and their family, are every day in the television, in the " pink" programs, with rumors and polemic matters. The press is more interested in the one who is going to go and who not, that in the act.
