I believe Pablo is the calmest... I love his expressions and his manners. He is so well behaved that he almost passes unnoticed. :) There is something in his way that reminds me a lot Prince Felipe at the same age.

But they all are adorable!

THE KING STOP TO URDANGARÍN.

The 'yernísimo', forced to move away from his polemic business

With great discretion, the characteristic that should guide all the steps that the members of the Royal Family give, Iñaki Urdangarin has left the presidency of the Institute Nóos. A cargo that in Zarzuela was worrying very much especially since the millionaires business of the duke of Palm began to be questioned in front pages of this magazine and other mass media, too inconvinient circumstance for Zarzuela, which would have forced Urdangarin's such a drastic decision. In order that the spot in don Juan Carlos' image was not to any more, now the most enterprising royal son-in-law is going to devote to the promotion of the sport as tool for the social integration, an activity that sounds better than it to benefit from contracts millionaires with the governments inhabitant of the Balearic Islands and Valencian that have allowed him to acquire a mansion of more than 6 million Euros in that already they have begun to install the dukes and their chlidren.

I have seen it, Maria Angeles Alcazar has said that the King personally has not forced him, but that it was what he had to do after the scandal.

Also she has commented that it is very nice that he works and has his business, but that that business never had handled public money of the citizens. Jaime de Marichalar is employed at several private companies and he has never had any type of problem.;)

It is necessary to applaud the good criterion of infanta Cristina at the time of paying attention to Iñaki Urdangarin. The past weekend, in Barcelona, there was much Laureus (prizes), many sportsmen (in active-duty and in conserve), some desperate woman (Teri Hacher, that much despechugada woman (Elsa Pataki and Marisa came from distant spot) and Rockrose, without going more far), but the best one dressed, but handsome and the best one matched was the Duchess of Palm, splendid in a red dress. Not only it watched it - enchanted of the life its husband, Iñaki Urdangarin, but its father, Don Juan Carlos, that it had the noble gesture to kiss the hand of its daughter on an elegance show. That they learn of the King those besucones that without conocerte of anything plants their mouth in half of your face and even those that fit the hand to you as if it went to have left it.

crisiñaki 05-28-2006 03:20 PM

Thanks mon for the article!;)

The article's subtitle is : The Queen
And the general idea is: that Infanta Cristina stole the show at the Laureus Awards with her red dress; she was the better looking, the better matched (with handsome hubby Iñaki) and the better dressed.
It also says that the King has the gentleman's gesture of kissing her hand in a very elegant way:)

maybe Juan and Pablo but it's highly unlikely the Dukes would bring them to the game; maybe Nadal asked them to bring Irene for luck since she was born the same day he won RG last year!:D:D:D:D

It shows how the Spanish Royal family truely appreciates their athletes. Is anyone from the SRF attending the World Cup in Germany since Spain is playing?

Happy Birthday to Infanta Cristina.
Rafael Nadal mentioned them both in his blog on the ATP website:

"We went back to the locker room after we did all the TV interviews and there the Princess of Spain with her husband waiting at the entrance of the locker room. We just talked and took some pictures. So thank you again to them for coming."

It is wonderful to see how the SRF appreciate their sports people.

No, they won't:( They will have similar social position as the Gomez-Acebos and Zuritas, children of Infanta Pilar and Margarita. Maybe during some celebration, like wedding for example, they will be titled as "Don/Dońa" or Exmo. Seńor, or sth like that, but I'm not sure:confused:

Juanita 06-14-2006 08:50 AM

You're right, LaChicaMadrilena! ;)
When Felipe become King, Urdagarin and Marichalar kids won't have a title! Like Gomez-Acebo's and Zurita's families!
BTW, if i'm not wrong the King's grandchildren have the title "Gran Señor(a) de España" ;) (i think that is the title..)

I think Infanta Cristina has fostered one of the best paparazzi relationships among the royals. She seems to give them plenty of open opportunities to take pictures of her and her family, such as her kid's birthdays. She doesn't fight the photographers but works with them instead. I think both parties are pretty much satisfied. I don't think Cristina's life and family are too intruded upon and the photographers still get some decent shots of "private" life.

BTW, Irene is a little cutie. Hopefully when Irene and Leonor grow older, they'll be great friends. :)

Very lovely, thanks Mon!
On the latest pics on the boat, Cristina looks so young - it's because of the clothing and her hair style, but if you do not know her you could think she's a student in her early twenties :)

crisiñaki 06-30-2006 02:20 PM

I agree with you my dear K!
the thing is the sea is the favourite place for all of them, if you see the holiday pictures you notice they are always happy and relaxed when sailing so they look a lot younger and better:D

The Infanta played birllas in Field

Simplicity and naturalness, in addition to proximity, they are the aspects better valued of Infant Doña Cristina and her husband, Iñaki Urdangarín, on the part of the neighbors of Field, where they have spent the weekend lodged in center of Mountain Activities, place chosen by the Urdangarín family, whose facilities have shared with two groups of young people, “ without distinctions ”, according to Aurelio informs Garci'a, director of the shelter.

The visit had private character but the Saturday was inevitable that became social event, in spite of discretion whereupon they have taken its stay in the ribagorzana locality. Most of the familiar component arrived Wednesday and two days later were united Infant Doña Cristina, its husband and the three children. In the course of its stay in Field - until to the noon they moved yesterday until the cathedral of Stem of Isábena, they practiced rafting in the Ésera river, in whose waters they bathed and they played birllas with a group of ‘ mullés ’ of Field, in the New street, before the visit to the Museum of Traditional Games.

The presence of the family in the town did not happen unnoticed between the vecindario, in special on the part of the women who already were “ planted ” birllas in the habitual corners, awaiting sharing some game with the Infant and her companions. In “ Caigüila ” stopped to see the game, accompanied by Rosi Peiret, president of the Association “ the Rampeu ”, and of Masterful Fernando, director of the Museum of Traditional Games.

The familiar retinue followed its route by the New Street, where a game between the equipment formed by Amalia Costa gambled, Rosa Castán and Elvira Torres against Pounding Castán, Carmen Sahún and Mila. The six veteran players were “ hosts ” of the Infant in his first launchings of the skittle against the nine birllas, while they explained the development to him of the game, distance place, positions of the feet and modalities of the shot.

4 JULIO 2006

Who said fear?! The Dukes of Palma de Mallorca, a sportif marriage as they are, dare everything. And the past weekend had occasion to demonstrate it. Next to their four children and the brothers of Iñaki with their families formed one amused gang who maintained course to the Pyrenean Aragonese, a place that visits very frequently in winter to practice the ski, but that in summer surprised them still more. And they had a most complete plan of activities. And everything of strong emotions. And yes, with a star activity: the descend in rafting.

Supplied with suits of neopreno --the defrosting water and high mountain is only for brave - helmets and life-guard, the complete family (except for the small Irene, still too much young for this type of adventures) raised with their respective oars until a stop where they waited for the boats type zodiac in which they would make the descend. The children were all nerves and emotion. Still more when a ewes flock of and goat crossed themselves, something that is not seen in the cities. It had to be the first time that small Miguel crossed itself one, because, peculiar, he ran towards his mother to ask everything to her.

Interesting, but the best thing was about to to arrive. The big group distributed in several boats to undertake the descend. Doña Cristina and her husband took in hers two of their children (Miguel, in the prow, and Juan Valentin, in the stern) and sent themselves to brave waters. The faces of emotion of the children said everything to it while their parents fought with their oars to maintain the stability of the boat. In spite of what can seem, the adventure does not have greater risk. Still, in all boats goes a professional to avoid any danger. Taking advantage of the good weather, they bathed in river cold waters, where the expresses made of unexpected toboganes. Although there was hardly no depth, Iñaki took the precaution to take his children strongly while they slid by small eddies.

In the evening they moved to a near locality, where in the middle of the street a small match of "rustic" skittles was celebrated (as much the skittles as the ball were of wood). Neither short nor sluggish they tried their luck. Doña Cristina demonstrated her dowries and Juan Valentin went to the rear. All with the enthusiasm of locals who were thrilled to have there part of the Royal Family.

Lovely photos, mtbcm! It's great to see how balance the Dukes of Palma's family is. They really try to keep the balance between spending time with the whole family, or just with the boys (just to makes them feel happy & not jealous of Irene). They also taught their boys to be sporty early on too. It's great to see them involve in so many different sports in the past years, and it's just the beginning.

Thank you very much mtbcm, the photos are wonderful and in these are better the details and the faces of the children who are worthy to admire, with these photos already I am wishing that the summer in palm arrives. :) :)

Thank you, purple. It seems to me that Don Iñaki wants their kids to have a life dedicated to sports and he has started already pathing the way. If we add the Spanish Royal Family love for sports, those kids will be great in almost everything!
