It might be old looking but its called the Mohammed bin Rashed car in the UAE. Not my cup of tea, to boxy for me. Looks like Sheikh Mohammed was offering some tourists maybe a drink. Would be nice to see some more pictures.

yeah me too live in dubai and very few people know the fact that if they see a car with the plate no 1 in it,then its 100% she mo in it.his car is fully covered.and u cant see inside.its spotted on sheikh zayed road often and what i know this is driven by shiekh himself.i think the europeans clicked the pix themselves.. u can see in the second pix some clicking photos clearly.

wow. It's so unbelievable. You know, such big persons like Sheikh Mohammed always have ill-wishers. I hope they won't take the advantage of his openness.
Maybe nevertheless it was specially organised?

kingjunaid 02-04-2009 06:49 AM

ill wishers?who? u saying to dazzling?
well don't worry there will be 10-20 army soldiers around if anything happens!!
and i can say only 2 things:
a)may be the tourist informed the newspaper about this with pics
b)yes,it can be a publicity exercise.not sure though

No, no! I didn't address my words to anybody personally, especially to people from this forum. I meant ill-wishers in a sphere of politics, economics etc.

And what about cars...tastes differ but I can add that if Mo often goes to desert by his own car (hunting with falcons like then) this car suits good for that case (in a sense that it's off-road vehicle, 4x4 drive). Imagine Aston Martin or Lamborghini driving in sands :)
Though personally I do prefer small and elegant cars. But my dad also bought the huge one:huh:

kingjunaid 02-04-2009 07:29 AM

oh ok...and yeah every one has mo seems tobe a fan of horse racing etc.owing stables in uk is not a child's play.
thanks for reminding...i heard there is special dubai police car (martin or lamborgni may be)used only for sh mo.,,is it true?

has anyone heard of this before i havenot, sheikh mohammeds $44.5million wedding to princess salama:

Weddings Of The Billionaires -

Warren 02-14-2009 05:13 AM

:previous: This is the quote from the Forbes article:

The wedding to trump all weddings: the 1981 nuptials of Dubai's ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to his bride, Princess Salama. The weeklong event's $44.5 million price tag would exceed $100 million today after adjusting for inflation. The ceremony took place in a stadium especially built for the occasion. Number of guests: 20,000.

Sheikh Mohammed married Sheikha Hind in 1979. I'm not aware who this "Princess Salama" is.

dazzling 02-14-2009 07:14 AM

Its a mix up. They mean Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed CP of Abu Dhabi who married Sheikha Salama in 1981 ;)

I think they meant sheikh Mohammed's wedding to Sheikha Hind because the wedding was held in a stadium. I can remember reading about it from forbes itself and some other publication.

Princess Mahala 02-14-2009 11:30 PM

thanks dazzling yes it sheikhof abu dhabi, i thought somethings not sounding right lol.

zabeel123 02-15-2009 09:23 AM

Im pretty sure they are talking about the famously elaborate wedding of Shk Mohammed and Shka Hind.

Warren 02-15-2009 11:38 AM

Well, if they are they have both the wrong year and the wrong bride.

Hello magazine have created a list of some 100 of the most inspiring and influential people of today. Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is on a 24th place.

The full list is here:

HELLO! Personality Of The Year -, HELLO!

miss b 02-19-2009 04:55 PM

why do the abu dhabi sheikhs never make these lists???after all, they are the ones with the real power in UAE.

Warren 02-20-2009 05:24 AM

It's a Hello! magazine listing, not the Wall St Journal. Many Hello! readers would know of Dubai, probably few are aware of the other Emirates.
