Princess Maxima attends the congress of the Dutch Country women Organisation for their 75th jubilee. It is the first performance of the Princess after her maternity leave because of the birth of Princess Alexia in June this year. The Dutch Country women Organisation has tight contact with women organisations in the African country Benin. Dutch women tell about the need to support starting female entrepreneurs in Benin with credits. The Princess supports these initiatives. Pictures without watermarks DPA

Thank you all for the lovely pictures. I love the hat! And the green. She just looks wonderful. Very elegant... :)

Marengo 10-14-2005 04:20 PM

Thanks for the pictures! Maxima looks very nice, I like the use of all the green shades in her accessoires. I hope she keeps doing like this and actually dress up when she is on official visits (hat, skirt etc).

The small pin she is wearing is, I think, the logo of the organisation for dutch countrywomen. I believe she also received a musicbox for Catharina-Amalia...

Máxima looks great!!And finally back to work!

Lillia 10-14-2005 08:53 PM

Funny thing I noticed, every time I've seen a picture of CP Maxima with a hat recently, hers always seems the biggest and the brightest compared to everyone else around her.:)

She seems to really like having the biggest hat in the room!:p

Ennyllorac 10-14-2005 09:41 PM

I think she and Infanta Elena are competing to see who can wear the largest hat!https://www.theroyalforums.com/forums...77&postcount=7

carlota 10-15-2005 04:31 PM

maxima definetely has one of the loveliest royal smiles... :)

although green is not my favourite colour and it doesn't suit many people, maxima looks great in it. i loved how she combined all the complements in green.
that coat must be from natan....

Amira 10-15-2005 04:33 PM

She really looks great in green , i love her smile , she's an attractive woman , full of energy :)

Wearing Natan, and looking wonderful...

Squidgy 10-17-2005 04:56 PM

Thanks for the pictures Adry & MissHelen.

Maxima does look good in this outfit. It's an interesting design -- sort of combining the classic (the jacket & scarf) with the modern (the cut of the skirt & the hat). And of course, Maxima always looks good in shades of red.

It's nice to see her joining in the the Jubilee celebrations.

Adry 10-17-2005 04:59 PM

Is a pleasure to put pictures of Princess Maxima...she`s great :)

Maxie 10-17-2005 07:54 PM

Sonny Boy

Its a Dutch book called Sonny Boy by Annejet van der Zijl.
The story is about two lovers who face cultural differences, get involved with the Dutch resistance during the second world war and much more...., it sounds ok to read :)

what a great outfit. btw, this organization is for women who like to make hand made crafts like knitting and embroidery. it was recently renamed "women of today."

they would like maxima to become their patron but we'll still have to see about that. maxima told the head of the organization that she enjoys embroidery.

i wouldnt have thought....

Máxima visiting Argentina

Does anybody knows when Máxima is visiting Argentina? In December or March?

Marengo 10-25-2005 05:12 AM

I think she is paying a private visit in december. Gossipmagazine 'Weekend' said on the cover that Catharina-Amalia will spend her 2nd birthday there anyway...

I thought in November 2005 ánd March 2006

In November: Microcredit visit (for UN) to Argentina and Brazil. Begin December the King and Queen of Jordan will visit The Netherlands, so I'm not sure Catharina-Amalia will spend her 2nd birthday in Argentina.

In March: State visit to Argentina (with W-A and Beatrix)

let us, the argentinians, say that she is our argentinian princess as well, can we share her? :)

i'm so glad she is coming back to argentina, although on a bussiness trip. i also live somewhere else and know the sensation of coming back home!

i'm so looking forward to this visit... will be so symbolic! will she stay in buenos aires some days or will she just be in jujuy and the north? any official calender beng released?

Princess Emma 11-24-2005 02:58 PM

Yes xxPatrickxx, she is. I would be curious to know her daily routine in Wassenaar like does she go to a gym or has one in her house, how many service people work for them? Who chooses her clothes for her if any? Does she speak Dutch with WA all the time? Does anyone know? Thanks!

saphills 11-24-2005 03:08 PM

I'm argentinian, I lived in Japan, Mexico and got married to an american so I reside in US now. But I must say that Argentina is my homeland and I would be always proud of it and will be pleased to come back anytime. My family and friends still live there.
And I'm very glad to hear that in Netherlands people is glad to have Maxima as their crown princess. That means that she is doing a great job and I think she is a very good "ambassador" of both countries.
I'm very proud of her, she is a very intelligent person and I would say that she got involved very well to the title she was given.

Princess Maxima 11-24-2005 03:11 PM

I'm argentinan and i'm very proud of Máxima!!She has become a wonderful princess!
Carlota: Máxima will visit Jujuy and then she comes to Bs.As, she'll give a speech at the Universidad Catolica Argentina

HMQueenElizabethII 12-23-2005 06:20 AM

Yah, i agree with you, Princess Maxima looked really warm and friendly to people as she always is, she can sit and and talk really and more and more, she could understand them and im sure seeing what problems people are still facing now, so by her role she can find some way to help the society improve much more.

Hannelore 12-23-2005 01:45 PM

Maxima looked terrific, she's been very pretty lately.

I agree she's dedicating herself to a good cause, and we gat to see a lot of pics from it, but I wonder wether it will really alter anything. Probably not, but she can only do her best!

a short article from spanish newspaper el mundo:

https://www.elmundo.es/elmundo/fotos_...4/index_3.html

Quote:

(Foto: REUTERS)
maxima 1 - "pink" press 0: maxima cleaned her honour with the law after the judges said she was right as the dutch press said that she had beaten one of the nursemaids (of her daughters).

pollyemma 01-04-2006 11:41 AM

yay! that's great news!

i'm so happy for maxima. hopefully this will discourage tabloids from printing more of such nonsense.

the article alledged that M and WA had employed three nannies and fired them all and Maxima had hit one. the article was published in June of 2005 and said the hitting had taken place 'recently'

M and WA's lawyers proved that they had had only one nanny since November of 2004. (she is still with them) they had one other nanny before nov 2004 but she left on amicable terms over differing child-rearing philosophies. that former nanny appeared in court to testify that maxima had never hit her.

maxima will get 5k euros as compensation.

Marengo 01-04-2006 12:06 PM

Congratulations to the Princess, although I think the editor of Prive, Evert Santegoeds, will be even more vindictive now (though he has to be respectable to them, as his readers like the crownprincely couple). He is taking revenge on Youp van 't Hek right now IMO, apparently Youp (a famous dutch comedian) was always making fun of the editor when they were in the same shops (they live in the same area), and now Youp cheated on his wife so Evert is doing all he can to get as much durt as possible. It is even rumoured he (Evert) will get his own show on 'Talpa'.

Princess wins joust with gossip mag

4 January 2006

AMSTERDAM — Princess Maxima of the Netherlands won a legal action on Wednesday against gossip magazine 'Privé' for claiming she struck her child's nanny.
A court in Amsterdam ordered 'Privé' to pay Maxima EUR 5,000 and to publish a rectification as quickly as possible, or face a EUR 25,000 fine for every week it delays printing the retraction.

The caption of Newscom is not right. These pictures are old (2003/2004?).

yes, TheWatcher & Maxie are both right.
These pictures are taken on December 15, 2004 on a Press Conference of Pavem Organization' Biblioteek in The Hague.

Does she use English or Dutch in the conference?

Maxima always speaks Dutch, unless there is some other reason for her to do otherwise (like with foreign guests she's speaking to at state visits and things like that). But at normal Dutch press conferences she always speaks Dutch (as far as I know). She mastered the language very well, though she has still a very cute Argentinian accent. :)

Yes, I think it's great, I love to see my two favourite princesses together. :) I never would have thought to learn something about my own literature through the forums, by the way. I should be well informed about the whole Dutch literature thing (it's my major, after all) but I was all like: 'Huh, have they already finished the book?!' I knew they where working on it (soms profs I have in college may have contributed as well, I don't know...) but I didn't realize that it was already finished. Yay, the Royal Forums keep you updated on your own major! How nice is that? Thanks, purple!

Now it's about time I go to the store and buy The history of Dutch literature! But first I have to find a pot of gold...

they both bring their fresh passion for the dutch language to this event. they both worked very hard to master the language at a later age.

Do most Belgians learn French and Dutch or do they typcially speak only one of these languages fluently?

my impression is that neither walloons nor flemish learn each others languages paricularly well. though i think the flemish do better at learning french than vice versa.

Mathilde was a french speaker and basically had to learn dutch as an adult for her royal role and i think she's fairly typical for most walloons of her generation.

Marengo 01-11-2006 03:18 PM

not to annoy the walloons here, but their dutch is either VERY bad or they are to arrogant to use it (according to my flemish relatives -who speak fluently french- it is a combination of the two).

i also look really really forward to the visit. maxima and mathilde are also my favourite princesses and i think they do a great duo: they seem to like the same things, are involved in similar things and both take a really active role in their respectives societies. they also seem to have a strong relationship... i read here in the forum that it was belgium where maxima first stayed after the engagement with willem to learn protocol and useful skills for her future role as princess.

after dating WA for about a year she transferred to Deutsche bank's office in Brussels to be closer to him. but she moved to holland finally after the engagement got anounced.

laurentien and constantijn live in brussels right now.

Marengo 01-11-2006 08:36 PM

I believe the engagement party for Willem-Alexander and Maxima was held in Belgium as well (in order for the Zorreguietta's to attend without causing more trouble then there already was), which was also attended by Mathilde and Phillipe.

And to Pollyemma: you can judge for yourself if it is arrogance or ignorance when you are moving to Brussels (are you becoming a eurocrat?)...be frim and don't give in to the walloons, go for it! :P ;)

California Girl 01-11-2006 08:46 PM

Marengo and pollyemma thank you for your explanations. I know that it is difficult to learn another language as an adult. My attempts at learning Spanish are still stalled at a rather poor level.

The Belgian Royal Family would have to know both languages well in order to represent their nation. From what I've read here the younger generation speaks both French and Dutch fluently.
