I have a question and hoping someone can answer it for me.
On some pictures taken during the 'balcony scene' it seems that Queen Silvia is crying...
Can someone tell me what that was about?

She currently has a cold indeed.
Already mentioned the day before in the reports about the SAP 40th jubilee gala for the World Childhood Foundation, when she intoned 'Happy Birthday' sounding rather like a husky Marlene Dietrich.;)

Overshadowed by the inauguration but still happy birthday King Carl!

I am a year or 2 late but... These photos are amazing! I love Estelle and she was certainly the star of the show!!! Did anyone else notice the Queen's hand on CG's back? :)

11:45 The King comes out from the West Gate to meet the Royal Guard. Army Band plays a parade march. Then the king goes up to the commandant's reception in the Main Guard wing
11:48 to 12:15 Music Corps conduct a music program
12.00 Salute, 21 shots are fired from Skeppsholmen
12:20 The King comes out on the Outer Courtyard from the Guard wing
12:23 to 12:40 Ongoing Guard rides in with the Life Guards Band in the lead
The children will have the opportunity to leave the flowers to the King

I guess that is the reason, although at least in Finland civilian women can stand beside a general and accept military salutes. Or maybe the king just wants his son beside him.
