It appears to be a truthful statement. Here's the interview MM gave on favorite wedding dresses.Meghan Markle's Favorite Celebrity Wedding Dress | PEOPLE.com

Yes, CBK's was lovely but it was the 90s and the wedding took place in a small church. Meghan's dress designer will have to take into account, as you say, a column dress would be lost in a larger venue.

IF the Wedding is at Westminster Abbey there is a risk that a sleek, column dress might be'lost', given the Abbey's volume long train would obviate that problem, but 'proportion' is certainly something the designer/s need to consider...

YES. The first thing comes to my mind for MM is Victoria's gown.

I think she's going to have a grand dress...however it will lean to simple/elegant in design. I don't expect a sheath, mermaid or trumpet.

Modified A-Line or A-Line is my guess.

Someone may admire admire a certain style of dress in the abstract, but I have seen that brides sometimes go a different direction than they initially expect when choosing their own wedding gown. Whatever her dress looks like, I look forward to the wedding.

Remember all those Royal Needleworkers are just waiting for something to make!

She's actually worn quite a few lace dresses on the red carpet, so it's very possible she may do a lace wedding dress.

That's cool..I just haven't seen those!

The quality of lace she will have access too, if she's inclined at all to have lace on a wedding dress this is the time to do it!

i see her style as something like Beatrice Borremeo's Armani gown. Dramatic yet simple and elegant

Meghan gave some clues in an interview with "Glamour" on wedding gowns for her "Suits" character Rachel:

"It's not my personal style, because I'm a lot more relaxed than Rachel but I love that I got to play dress up in this gown. For TV we did have to bring the neckline up a touch per the producers request, but the original design has a low ballerina inspired neckline and I happen to love that.

Glamour: What's your perfect wedding dress?

__Meghan: My personal style—wedding or not—is very pared down and relaxed. Classic and simple is the name of the game, perhaps with a modern twist. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic. Delphine Manivet and Christos Costarellos are faves of mine for their uniqueness and beauty. And I will always be a fan of Ellie Saab. J. Mendel is spectacular as well, especially for more structural designs.

I don't see Meghan wearing a dress like Victoria's. I think she will go for a more modern design, with a short trail for example.

wyevale 11-27-2017 12:43 PM

I think we can safely say it won't be 'strapless' [thank Heavens]..

jacqui24 11-27-2017 12:46 PM

It'll be a classic dress with a modern twist.

Which is what 99.9% of Brides aim for surely ?

It looked quite grand. I love the creamy colour of the dress and the green shoes whose colour was reflected in the bouquet and also in the dresses of the flowergirls I think.

I LOVE the green shoes!!!

Since it appears it will be a Church wedding (based on the Archbishop of Cant. comments) it will also have to fit within those parameters too.

I LOVE #46 but with a higher neckline.

maryshawn 11-27-2017 12:56 PM

Classic with a modern twist would be MY choice but I've seen plenty of brides wearing dresses that were anything but classic and stylish. It's like they're out to make a lasting statement along the lines of What WAS she wearing?!" :-)

I too think she will go with clean lines and very little to no amount of lace or applications. Something pleated perhaps, with emphasis on the back rather than the front. Perhaps something like what CP Mette-Marit wore. Clean but with an understated drama.

I agree with the idea that Meghan's dress will be classy, simple yet very elegant. Nothing over the top. I'm also going to predict that when the details are announced about the dress, it will be stated that it is Meghan's own design that has been created for her. Just got that feeling.

Yes! This seems to suit her style more than a lace or beaded confection of a dress. I see her style as very sleek, modern, and unadorned.
