I know tha many posters didn't like this dress the first tiem round, especially because of its back, which looked a bit cheap, but I actually find this dress not bad.

eya 11-17-2016 08:11 AM

Personally i like this dress very much and Queen is very elegant with that!

Queen Letizia's Daytime Fashion Part 8: November 2016 -

I like this dress. Classy and elegant. It fits perfectly. Beautiful shade of blue. There are nice details on the dress that make it interesting.

carlota 11-17-2016 08:43 AM

very blah dress in my opinion and far from memorable.

I agree. Not bad but just ok.

Never been a fan of this dress but she looks good in it.

This is the third time she's worn it and it's growing on me. I wish she'd find different shoes to wear with it though.

Duc_et_Pair 11-17-2016 10:58 AM

For such an event, the State Opening of the new legislature of the Cortes, with all the ceremonial around, the Queen is underdressed in my humble and personal opinion. She is not an assistant or a clerk, she is the Queen of glorious Spain. Show it!

Elly C 11-17-2016 12:15 PM

She still looks very classy and beautifully turned out. I love the colour.

She looks about as dressed up as the King imo.

Unlike his spouse, the King has extremely limited options, of course. With her eternal predictable and dull skin-tight dresses of an eternal similar model the Queen of one of the grandest monarchies in the world manages to fade away in a crowd and to be outshadowed by any First Lady. This would never happen to a Mary, to a Victoria or to a Máxima. Come on Letizia... do not look like a rabbit caught in headlights, show some theatre, you are La Reina de Espaņa, for God's sake. Wear a pearl collier. Spice it up with a brooch. Use some ladylike accessoires. Do we need to spell it out for her?

An Ard Ri 11-17-2016 12:52 PM

Its ok but it look the exact same as last time,no accessories like a brooch or bracelet ,she has little imagination on that front.

Countessmeout 11-17-2016 12:53 PM

No you don't. Because not all events call for hats, pearls and gloves. Maxima is the closest to wearing it all the time. The other Ladies you mentioned don't dress any different than Letizia. I have rarely seen any of them in a proper hat or full pearls for a day event. :ermm:

The queen looks lovely. The dress has great detail. Her hair is beautiful. Though I love hats, the Spanish ladies don't tend to wear them, even Sofia. :flowers:

you cannot compare them to each other. Each monarchy has their own way of doing things. Spain has to operate a certain way. Letizia doesn't do brooches. We already know that. It's the way she's always been. She likes her "uniform'. Fine if you find it boring, but she's been like this for 12 years. She's not changing any time soon.

IloveCP 11-17-2016 05:51 PM

The green dress is beautiful.

dazzling 11-18-2016 01:20 AM

I dont see anything wrong with Letitia's outfit or that she is underdressed. This is an appropriate outfit for such an event. If she had worn a hat, then it would be a look that any other royal would wear but she doesn't and we should respect that. As for the jewels, yes I agree she should've worn a brooch and a bracelet.

Marty91charmed 11-18-2016 07:03 AM

A very good look imo. The simple black top is well-balanced with the skirt!

eya 11-18-2016 07:40 AM

Very beautiful! And nice compination!!

Erin9 11-18-2016 08:26 AM

Love the skirt. The simple top complements it well.

Jackswife 11-18-2016 09:15 AM

I've said before I am NOT big on monochromatic looks in general but this is a good look for her: the belt gives it some shape and the overall proportions are nice for her figure. Very professional.

I agree GomdNatt. Spain has a very different requirement for its public events that has been in place for decades now. IMO Letizia was appropriately dressed for the event.

iSnowwhite 11-18-2016 11:22 AM

I like both outfits . She looks beautiful

An Ard Ri 11-18-2016 05:47 PM

A nice look on Queen Letizia today at the Zarzuela Palace to finish the week.

HereditaryPrincess 11-18-2016 06:38 PM

Overall, I think Letizia's latest look is simple and professional. The skirt isn't to my personal taste, but in this instance, I feel like it finishes off the simple feel of this look.

IloveCP 11-18-2016 08:03 PM

She looks lovely and elegant.

Countessmeout 11-18-2016 09:51 PM

Looks fantastic. The skirt is great and the basic black top a perfect match:flowers:

carlota 11-18-2016 10:04 PM

what a great outfit! that skirt is fabulous. i love everything about it: the design, the colours, the fit, the length. it's perfection. royals cannot go wrong in hugo boss and on letizia it is a match made in heaven. it suits her 'executive' style whilst adding a twist to it.

dazzling 11-19-2016 02:12 AM

Thats a nice outfit! Elegant, age appropriate and event appropriate. I like her black top. I know it's simple but the style suits her.

Queen Letizia lovely and elegant on the first day of a three-day state visit to Portugal today, November 28 (she wore the scarf during the departure in Madrid only):

The lace is a bit odd, dangling like that... but otherwise it is a lovely look for Letizia...

eya 11-28-2016 07:51 AM

So much elegant and beautiful!

An Ard Ri 11-28-2016 08:16 AM

What a lovely elegant outfit on queen Letizia and great earrings too,the gloves are an unexpected surprise!

Erin9 11-28-2016 08:22 AM

Very elegant.

Is this not a repeat of the outfit (minus hat) that she wore to the Luxembourg wedding 4 years ago?

Fürstin Taxis 11-28-2016 09:02 AM

Yes! I loved this coat back then, glad she wore this.

Alisa 11-28-2016 09:37 AM

It is a very lovely and elegant look. Perfect for a wedding, not a departure from the airport.😌

Yes it is

The overall styling is lovely but I am not fond of the lace, seems a bit heavy and old for her.

Duc_et_Pair 11-28-2016 11:48 AM

In comparisons with all other Queens on a State Visit, or even in comparison with Princess Charlčne last week, she is the most underdressed European royal. When the reason is her mommy-in-law, maybe it is time for Leti to order some bulls' balls in a spicey sauce in one of the many Madrilean restaurants and have the guts to show that she is La Reina de Espaņa indeed and not a secretaresse. The First Lady of Portugal effortlessy outclassed the Queen of Spain, por Dios!

But a plus for Doņa Letizia: the gloves. He he.

Scarebaby 11-28-2016 12:23 PM

There is no First Lady in Portugal, and certainly there was no lady acting on such functions today in Porto, where King Felipe and Queen Letizia were accompanied only by President Rebelo de Sousa.

I wonder which pictures did you see, Duc...

Are you talking about the woman in green velvet with Letizia at the airport? I wonder about your fashion sense if you are. But that is Ana Julian, the spanish president of the congress of deputies. Portugal does not have a First Lady. The president has been separated for thirty six years, though not divorced due to his religion. He does have a mistress, but neither his wife or mistress would be in attendance at such an event.

The queen looks elegant and very chic. I love the coat and styling. :flowers:

I don't think the coat too baggy, simply unbuttoned do seems looser IMO

I quite like the style and color. Her hair looks lovely :flowers:

carlota 11-29-2016 04:33 PM

i also like the style and colours today. hugo boss seems to work for her, she usually looks very good in their clothes. i can't say i am madly in love with this, but it is a good combination for a queen on state visit.

ANNIE_S 11-29-2016 04:38 PM

I love her hair and earrings.

She looks fantastic and very stylish, as almost always in Carolina. I love everything minus the shoes, they don't match the rest of the outfit.

PrincessofEurope 11-30-2016 08:12 AM

Lovely look today on Letizia. Hair and jewellery look great. Probably my favourite daytime outfit on the state visit.

halaw39 11-30-2016 08:19 AM

Queen Letizia looks amazing in this stylish outfit. Colour combination is great, the lovely earrings are from her POA appearance in the green dress she recycled yesterday the bag is perfect too but why these shoes ?!? The only miss in an otherwise perfect appearance...

Marty91charmed 12-01-2016 07:35 AM

The jacket is nice, nothing special, but nothing horrible either. The pants do nit match much the jacket imo, mostly because of the length.

Countessmeout 12-01-2016 02:06 PM

Great new jacket lovely casual look. Pared with a simple pair of well fit trousers. Her hair looks great. She has done great this trip. :flowers:

carlota 12-01-2016 03:09 PM

i wouldn't say the jacket is among my favourites of hers, but i like that she uses high street brands like zara. after all, spain is facing tough economic times and having letizia dressing in more affordable brands is a good PR move.

And she's wearing gloves again.
Maybe the dress is a tad too short, though.

LadyFinn 12-02-2016 11:37 AM

Totally wrong outfit for this event, it was a International Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition at the FAO Headquarters. The dress is way too short, she doesn't look professional, this was a "boring" business event where no glamour was needed.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CyrcCytXcAAxHF6.jpg

Emmily 12-02-2016 12:01 PM

I love how her hair is styled and her makeup is beautiful. The dress is entirely too short.

An Ard Ri 12-02-2016 12:51 PM

Just wish the dress was a bit longer other than that Letizia looked stunning and all business!

carlota 12-02-2016 12:52 PM

that dress is too short and simply inappropriate for a queen.

fandesacs2003 12-02-2016 12:55 PM

Too short. Nevertheless very nice appearance. Maybe not appropriate for the event. Some times I'm wondering if she really receives proper information about the event to attend, as she gets all wrong.

Moonmaiden23 12-02-2016 07:21 PM

Dress is way too short and not very professional/appropriate.

But who cares when her hair and her makeup look like a dream?? Gorgeous beyond belief!

Countessmeout 12-03-2016 01:32 AM

Her hair and makeup are amazing, and the coat is great. The dress is lovely and would be professional if longer. As it is, too short.

ladongas 12-03-2016 11:46 AM

I for one would be disappointed if a Queen showed up dressed like everyone else. Nothing unprofessional about her look, anyway. MOO

The skirt is leather and it doesn't work with the blazer or the red top. It looks too big and stiff against the jacket IMO.

I don't care for it either, but she (Letizia) seems to favor it. She knows what she likes and she sticks to it.

That is one of her worst looks as queen yet, imo.

carlota 12-06-2016 09:42 AM

i agree that the leather skirt looks most odd. i am not really a fan of leather garments overall (for many reasons including animal respect, unhygienic-ness...), although she did have some good leather outfits in the past (such as this hugo boss suit) - but this is not one of them.
