Oh that's exciting! That's very big for her. It'll be nice to hear her speak.

I'm really looking forward to following this event. Catherine is wonderful when it comes to interacting with little ones and their families. I have no doubt that her first public address will be fantastic. Break a leg, Your Highness !

I'll be sure to stock up on a bunch. I usually tear up when I see Catherine interacting with children, but this particular visit will be more emotional for everyone involved.

Some info on why she wanted to give her first speech at this particular appearance

Robert Jobson ‏ @theroyaleditor #royal Kate spokesman said on EACH speech: "She wanted her first speech to be on topic she is affiliated to and which she is passionate."

Makes perfect sense! Cannot wait! Catherine brings sunshine into every room she enters, to every person she meets.... I am sure she will be fantastic! The waves of joy will be enormous! Like I say, we'll need tissues, I am sure!;)

I'm glad she's going this route. When one's passionate about something, one has more confidence and poise during the speech. I think she'll do fabulously.

You said it ! I'm really looking forward to this appearance, especially her interactions with little ones and their families.

Can't wait to hear her speech coming up. I bet William is so proud of her. I would suppose he sees what she has been doing or has reports given to him on how things are going, you think?

I agree with you. He is, no doubt very, very proud of his wife. I'm going to venture and say that he probably gets some updates from his staff, and Catherine herself. I'd imagine they chat via phone or Skype, and she fills him in on her doings. Either way, it's lovely that he's able to follow her progress.

Since I live where Kate is giving her first speech, I might be able to get a glimpse of her. :flowers:

If you do, please share your experience with the rest of us. I love getting first-hand accounts of things like this.

This is the big one for Kate! I can imagine how she's relentlessly practicing and fine-tuning that speech.

Oh, I'm sure! I can only imagine the nervousness she's experiencing at the moment. Public speaking is not easy, and I bet the pressure is that much stronger because of who she is, and her immense popularity (I do hope that people don't put her on too high of a pedestal, because if Heavens forbid, she'll slip, it'll be all over the news, and the disappointing and snide comments about her incompetence will flow like wine). I'm rooting for her, and wish her the best.

I believe tomorrow is her engagement with the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. I'm looking forward to following that one as well.

That is very fortunate indeed. I hope you're successful and get a glimpse and a listen.
