Yes I also think he got some look of his own. (I remenber also that Infanta Sofia also got her nose of her own, it's neither Felipe and neither Letizia). However I also see William genes there, the hair and I think the nose is William as well. The lips are Catherine, they're thin like mommys.

CyrilVladisla 07-19-2014 09:30 PM

Such a charming child and steps of confidence!!!

XeniaCasaraghi 07-19-2014 09:47 PM

George's nose looks like Kates when she was a baby, not William. Although the eye color is Kate's the shape looks like Williams. Kate also had chubby cheeks as a baby. I just realized she doesn't really resemble her siblings.

amaryllus 07-19-2014 10:47 PM

Is his hair a light brown or is he a very light strawberry blond? I can't ever decide. Another ginger would be nice.

It's a Royal walkabout! Gorgeous new portrait of Prince George to mark his first birthday on Tuesday - and hasn't he found his feet! | Mail Online

First of 3 photos got released yesterday night.

Cici 07-20-2014 01:06 AM

He is such a cute little baby. Those round cheeks. I think his hair might be a little bit of both, it looks like it depends a bit on the light what shows more, the brown or the strawberry blond.

SElizabeth 07-20-2014 02:18 AM

Oh what a darling boy he is, he looks ready to tackle the world, running to do his own thing already....lololololo. It is great to get the picture of him, we need a few more sightings of Prince George at times. And I love how he is dress, cute railroad type overalls, and I hope his hair turns red, we need more red haireds in this world.
:fireworks:Happy First Birthday Prince George!

A lovely picture. Am I right in thinking there are two more to follow? - Presumably on the birth date. Was the thinking in releasing this one ahead for the weekend papers?

The body gaurd could be the woman next to the Nanny .

It's a shame the Nanny is too busy talking to the bodyguard than talk to George . Can't believe he has that horrible stroller Maclaren . Babies can't sit properly straight in them and you can't see them to talk to them ...

Daria_S 07-20-2014 01:51 PM

George looks absolutely adorable. I love his smile. It's as if he's so pleased with himself for walking unaided . Such confidence comes from parents who show him nothing but love and support, and I'm sure William and Catherine do just that. Looking forward to the other two photos.

I see William mostly. George isn't an exact replica, of course, but he looks very much like his dad to me.

I agree 100% the shape of the face, eyes - all Mike Middleton.

I've always thought that Catherine takes after Mike, and Pippa after her mother.

George is more Middleton - I'd like to see a pic of Mike as a child but accept that won't happen.

GracieGiraffe 07-20-2014 05:40 PM

And lefties rule, George, don't forget it!

Prince George: how 'Georgous' won our hearts

Prince George: how 'Georgous' won our hearts - Telegraph

Lady Nimue 07-20-2014 08:03 PM

I did a really, really casual 'analysis' of little Georgie's features on another thread. I think the resemblance issue is all in the shape of the head and particularly the shape of the mouth. The nose, too.

Here's the results of my scouring around.

I've decided that his nose and mouth are from his mother, definitely not his father. The shape of his head and the shape of his eyes (with eyebrows) are from Kate and his grandfather Middleton. I think there is more Middleton in him than Windsor at this point - and may be why he looks so distinctive to the casual observer who is accustomed to seeing the Windsor royal babies.

I'm sure for those who tend him he flashes between resembling both parents in turn as babies do. :flowers: This is not a definitive pronouncement - just a bit of fun.

Here's 'our little Prince' -
LINK: https://twitter.com/ClarenceHouse/st...09579131412481

Here is Charles as a toddler - he has a round head -
LINK: Postcard The Royal Baby, HRH Prince Charles as toddler, Tucks | akpool.co.uk

William as a toddler - he has a long head and a very different mouth - William very much represents the Spencer genes, I think. As an adult he looks very much like his Uncle Charles Spencer.
LINK: An adorable Prince William scratches his head curiously in this 1984 photo. - ABC News

Here you can definitely see the different mouth -
LINK: Pin by Julieta MG on Diana | Pinterest

Longer head -
LINK: 15 Sweet Photos Of William And Harry When They Were Little

Then Michael Middleton as a young man. For some maybe a long-shot, but I see Mr Middleton's eyes in William - and the round head - I could't find a toddler picture  -
LINK: Google Image Result for

I can't get the toddler picture of Kate as a stand-alone picture. It seems clear (to me) that, in the end, he resembles his mother. There is a delicacy with the mouth that seems to be Kate's 'donation', among much else.
LINK: https://www.google.com/search?q=Kate...ml%3B634%3B815

Overall, I think George likely has William's robust frame - that is the same between the two as toddlers. George will probably be tall. He does look like a ginger but it is hard to tell at this point. My guess is he's going to be a handsome child and a good looking adult. One can already tell that he beams from being well-loved.

Now for a baby sister! :flowers:

CyrilVladisla 07-20-2014 09:34 PM

I like "Georgous".
"Georgous" could be the Latin equivalent of the Prince's first name.

Archduchess Zelia 07-20-2014 11:49 PM

Georgous is wonderful indeed *and ever so suiting, he's such a beautiful little one. I quite like Georgesus as well

It really is hard to believe it's been a whole year since the world seemed to go slightly mad. Watching hundreds of journalists/cameramen/photographers standing outside a door for days while offering all the craziness via a 24/7 livestream was certainly pretty surreal.

Little George is adorable, though. I sense a lot of goodwill towards him even from people not at all interested in the RF.

Babies do it - then they become teenagers (as my mother always said). ;)

Oh my goodness, he's so adorable! He's always been a handsome little guy, but I swear he keeps getting cuter and cuter.

Previously, I thought George looked almost identical to William as a baby, but now I definitely see an increasing resemblance to Kate and her dad.

And he's always got the most adorable little outfits as well. Okay, I've got to stop myself from gushing over him because I could go on and on.

NOOOOOO
George is developing a neck. Go back to having no neck!
Ok that's just a joke, people I know always love a baby with so much baby fat that it looks like their head connects right to their shoulders.
His hair doesn't look red at all, it looks dark blonde, sometimes golden blonde. A lighter shade of what William has now.

Isabella 07-21-2014 06:56 PM

I think George's hair looks blond, but a strawberry blond. Not at all surprising - a lot of people are blond as children, and there's also reddish hair in the family (William was blond, Harry's was kind of a light red, and I think Diana was a strawberry blonde - I think Kate was always brunette? Not that that matters - both of my parents were always brunette, but I was blonde until my teenage years).

LauraS3514 07-21-2014 07:17 PM

Queen Victoria and Queen Alexandra had dark red hair and Queen Mary was a strawberry blond. And red hair has been a Spencer family trait for centuries...in fact, Diana was the only one of her generation NOT to have red hair.

Yes, I absolutely agree. At this point I don't see much Windsor-Mountbatten in him, although that may change. Catherine's family is quite good looking and I think it's a good thing that the dominate Windsor-Mountbatten genes has some competition. Particularly with the teeth and hairline.

I think it's something you pick up along the way. He is going to notice the way his Great Granny is treated and get taught to bow to her. He is going to get to watch Grandpa Charles get crowned and pick up along the way that not everyone lives in a palace and has a police officer.

I recently read a book about Edward VII, he thought that his older sister Vicky was going to be the next Queen and didn't figure out he was the heir until he was 8.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said on the occasion: "We would like to take this opportunity on George's first birthday to thank everyone over the last year, wherever we have met them, both at home and overseas, for their warm and generous good wishes to George and our family."

And accordin to Victoria Murphy o twitter Kate has brought George to Buckingham Palace today:flowers:

Little George is adorable! It's hard to believe that he's already a year old. I remember when I first heard his birth announcement - I was on holiday and was trying to get WiFi (and succeeded) especially for it. Time flies.

I agree with those who think he looks more like Catherine than William. I used to think he looked like Charles as a baby, but now disagree.

I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall at his party, could you imagine how cute the interactions between George, Savannah, Isla and Mia would've been?! All we needed was to invite Estelle of Sweden and Eleonore of Belgium to the party as well - talk about a cuteness overload.

CyrilVladisla 07-22-2014 09:34 PM

How charming that Grandmother Carole previously held a Peter Rabbit-themed party.
George is one fortunate Royal Prince!!!

Tiggersk8 07-22-2014 10:56 PM

A year flies by, doesn't it? That picture of little Master Wiggle Worm reaching for the Butterfly on his Dad's hand? I melted when I saw that last night. These 1st Birthday photos have set the bar for future Royal 1st Birthday photos period IMHO. The naturalness of them and the fact we see a little one who is w/out a doubt curious about the World around and very determined not to miss anything that could be seen and explored? I will take these 10,000 times over the usual posed pictures we get on occasions like this. Well done Will and Kate!!

And Thank God we have something joyful and happy to talk about for a bit of a break from the horrific news from Ukraine and the Middle East. Just as The Commonwealth Games will help to do starting tomorrow. Anyone who would come in and even think of telling us off for doing that, not only has one Hell of a lot of nerve, but is someone who has a very real problem. I can't even imagine what kind of a person would even think it's okay to do such a thing....Just do not get it.

Okay...Enough time wasted on that person.

I really hope that Prince George had an amazing Birthday Party filled w/lots of love and lots of Cake!! :D

I could not have said it better myself. I love the intently George was exploring that butterfly  You can tell he's very observant, and interested in what is around him. I hope in the future we see more pictures like this from the Cambridges. These three have so much love between them, and you can see it from the photographs.

In all honesty, I think it's healthy to step away from the ugliness of the world, and focus on something positive and full of hope, such as a celebration of a child's life, whether it's a royal child, or not. It helps you see that even though there's sorrow and suffering, there's also joy and life. No one should be made to feel guilty for doing that. If all we see is negative, then our lives are going to be pretty dismal ( and this is coming from someone who is almost always a bit on the cynical and 'realistic' side of things).

So, on that lovely note, like you, I hope that George had a lovely party, and was allowed to have an extra piece of cake . Right now, he's just a child, and his birthday should not be put on hold just because some megalomaniac from another country decided to display his psychotic tendencies to the world.

It does indeed. Before we know it, little George will be starting school.
I really liked that photo of George and the butterfly too, how he seemed to be concentrating on it so much was adorable. I love how babies get pleased at the littlest of things, it's so sweet. But my favourite photo has to be the one of George with his arms outstretched, probably trying to grab the butterflies. It reminds me of when he tried to grab the bilby during the Australia/New Zealand tour.

Ditto! I loved that particular picture. The love just pours out of those 3.

He looks like a Middleton with daddy's nostrils. I love the chubby cheeks. Make you want to pinch them. He has a certain willfulness about him, oh, my, already, at such a young age!

This is a little guy that for sure doesn't have any qualms about exploring his world and trying to grab whole chucks of it at one time with his chubby little fists. Oh to have that sense of adventure and wonder again!

He certainly is going to be a joy to his family. I think that's the best part of having children is that it gives us adults a chance to hold hands as we cross the street, have cookies and milk and delve into the wonderful and imaginary worlds of childhood fantasies.

roseroyal 07-23-2014 10:49 PM

Or have children around us. I don't have children, but I love hanging out with kids. Lets me be a child at heart. Children are so innocent, so free from adult concerns.
To watch Sesame Street and talk about Big Bird and other carefree things is so refreshing. Plus they say the coolest stuff- I learn so much from them.

A couple of the articles show Prince and Princess Michael pulling into KP and claim they attended the party - I wonder whether they did or if they just happened to be arriving home when the other guests where arriving for the party. Prince George looks to me to be slimming down now that he's completely mobile - I bet he's one who went from crawl to run w/ no walk phase in between.

I would be really surprised if the Cambridges did not invite the Kents over for the party. They are extended family after all.

Yeps.. that'd be our George. "I'm up.. I'm going... I'm GONE! There's too much to do and so little time".

I kind of think that P/Pr Michael were just coming home. It was basically the same crowd that was at George's christening. There wasn't extended family at that event and if they were going to invite more family to his birthday party, Peter Phillips with his girls & the Linleys are more likely that P/Pr Michael to me. The Gloucesters are right next door to Apt 1a. Princess Alexandria is William's godmother. They would probably be ahead on the theoretical invite list too.

Was William at the party? I know, it's a silly question but he wasn't even mentioned...

Prince George's 1st birthday - 22 July 2014

It is safe to say William was at the party. If Kate and George didn't have the earlier in the day road trip to BP -there won't have been photos of them on the day either. There are photos of the Middletons and most of Cheeks' godparents coming to KP. I didn't see any Harry photos but he could just walked over and I would think that Miguel and Rebecca were probably there too.

Lupo probably spent the whole party sulking since he got replaced with a butterfly in the new photos ;)

:previous: Thank you:flowers:. It's strange that the media talked a lot about the guests, the queen and Kate but not about william

I suspect there are an awful lot of friends and family that the Cambridge family are closer to and more likely to invite to their son's first birthday than Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

BBC News - Prince George 'harassment' warning to photographer
Quote:

Lawyers for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have asked a photographer to "cease harassing" Prince George.

A Kensington Palace statement said they were prompted to take action after the man was spotted near the 14-month-old and his nanny in a central London park.
The couple are not taking legal action at this stage, but may consider it in the future, the statement said.

Lawyers for the photographer, Niraj Tanna, said he had done nothing wrong and would continue with his work.

The statement from the palace said there was "reason to suspect that the individual may have been placing Prince George under surveillance and monitoring his daily routines for a period of time."
