All I can say is one word...Stunning!

Marengo 11-23-2013 05:20 AM

Thanks for the close ups salma. It is nice that queen Máxima keeps adding to the Dutch jewel collection.

The new ruby earrings seem versatile, I wonder if the rubies can be replaced with small sapphires or emeralds.

You´re welcome Marengo

hey salma! those diamond bracelets were seen right when she did a state visit last year in Middle East (don't remember where) as was a beautiful cuff on then Queen Bea. Maybe gifts? I love them too. Really elegant!

Now that I see there's an M in the diamond bracelet, I think there are 4 A's in it, the 3 girls and one for Alexander.

I love both very personal bracelets, but I wouldn't wear them together, they are too different and would be more beautiful when they could shine alone IMO.

Is Maxima wearing a portion of the Dutch wedding gift parure or a "new...ish" sapphire and diamond necklace for the 200th anniversary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands?

Update: Some of the gems look like moonstones with diamonds and sapphire. It looks like extra pieces from several different jewels and/or they had unmourned gems that Maxima had made into something usual...or this was just a piece that hasn't been used much. Regardless, I love it and I love Maxima for her love of jewels,

While that's a beautiful necklace, it doesn't look like the piece from the Dutch parure. Max's doesn't have the geometric sapphire insets in the necklace portion and it's not a flat design like the 1900 piece. It's also has dangling diamonds, it seems, as well. Altogether, the front portion is a different design; it doesn't have the swirls and scrolls of the older necklace with cabochon sapphires. Max's sapphires look like they're faceted.

Frelinghighness 11-30-2013 07:12 PM

This looks like a much more modern piece than the Dutch parure. It is much more flexible more from the 60's I would say.

I have no idea whether it is new or old, but I love it. Divine.

It looks like a new addition! very nice! wonder where is coming from????

Marengo 12-01-2013 11:14 AM

Nobody knows, the necklace might even be paste or real moonstones, small diamonds and sapphires. I don't find the design all that pretty, the other old sapphire necklace is much prettier.

--
The Mellerio sapphire parure was not by Mellerio but was made by Amsterdam jeweller Maison van der Stichel.

Hard to tell because of the lighting - but there could be iolite or tanzanite in there, easily.

Frelinghighness 12-01-2013 09:15 PM

Very hard to tell because of the lighting but it does seem that they are moonstones, thank you dbarn, and sapphires and diamonds. Maybe there are other stones as well because the blue stones appear to be different blues.

That necklace is so stunning!

ashelen 12-02-2013 10:58 AM

wow wish we could find from where is the necklace I wonder if it is a present as now she is a Queen from on of the other Royal families, ?????

dbarn67 12-02-2013 01:05 PM

You can barely see it behind her hair but Maxima's earrings have the same diamond triangle dops as the necklace.

https://img822.imageshack.us/img822/160/3m87.jpg

The triangle drops in the necklace and the earrings (sans the center sapphires) look like the tops of the Dutch Sapphire Necklace/Tiara and reconfigured from portions (especially the chiclet shaped sapphires) of Queen Whilhelmina's Wedding gift parure (tiara mostly). It makes sense given that the Sapphire/Necklace was made from the dismantled Wedding Gift tiara, according to the Dutch Royal Jewels blog.I like that Queen Maxima's playing with the royal jewels.

Facinating! Does this mean that Maxima had the dutch sapphire and diamond necklace/tiara dismantled to make this? or maybe she just took off the diamond/sapphire triangle tops to the tiara/necklace, if so, good choice, imo. the row of oval kashmirs should be shown on its own as it was orginally in Emma's Dog collar, according to the dutch jewel blogs.
